Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

.snip.

On another note. I completed a second playthough last night. I shot everyone who got in my way, did only a couple of side quests, no exploration and ran from main quest marker to main quest marker. Took me 16 hours. Felt like I'd missed out on a lot. Which I had.

I'm doing the opposite, exploring everything I can find, 100 hours in to playthrough one, nearly at the end now, found pretty much everything - except the little triangles, not bothered about them.

Loving the gameworld but there are still areas in Prague where performance is inconsistent which drags you out of the experience. Seems fine everywhere else. There's probably just too much in Prague - I found yet another secret apartment last night, amazing amount of hidden details but I think most people will miss some of them.

That's the best way to play. There's just so much that can be missed if you whizz through. It took me about 100hours on my first game, which was quite an exhaustive exploration of everything. However, I'm sure I missed things.

Anyone else think that this is the biggest disappointment of 2016?

I seem to be in the minority but I really enjoyed it. My time was fairly limited so I couldn't sit down and blast away for hours at a time so perhaps that had an impact.

Also, its cheesy but I really like the mechanic of "Hmmm locked door......better start looking for a heating vent"

Saw that - brilliant.

Performance issues aside, it's a great game. Will definitely be replaying.

Was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to go to Rab-iah at the end, I assumed the final level would be Rab'iah since they kept mentioning it, and it looks amazing.

Still replaying the final level - there is so much to it.
Found Marchenko’s kill switch last night – so much to explore on that level.
Level design here overall is amazing, so many different routes, it’s a joy to explore after playing so many games with relatively limited maps and invisible walls.

Loving this atm the amount of things you can find is excellent.

My 290 is struggling with this game at 1440p at times the 4Gb Vram is starting to struggle. Can hold a solid 60fps all high settings @1200p though. Still looks excellent.

Went into a building that I found and the doors automatically locked behind me and I then had to figure out a puzzle Haaa was so random

When you found his kill switch, was you not like, wtf is his kill switch doing under some random desk? lol.

Should have been hidden or in a safe at least. Under a desk in a bag. That was stupid. lol.

Was that the apartment window with a gas chamber inside? I found that on my second playthrough I think :)

Yes! That's exactly what I thought. I'll just stick it under a desk with my sports gear :D

Correct was a nice surprise :D

Overall it’s an excellent game. Varied gameplay, loads of options and it looks gorgeous too, it was just a shame about the performance slumps in areas of Prague, as the gameworld is really impressive and a joy to explore. Took about 110 hours and once I’d ironed out most of the performance issues it was very enjoyable. I enjoyed the story apart from the ending which was strange and awkward.

I don’t really like the choices, maybe other people love them but I don’t like feeling I’m missing out on several missions because of an arbitrary binary ‘choice’. Also shortens the game and lessens the experience for players who will only play it once (the majority, presumably?). I suppose it’s interesting but I don’t really enjoy it. It does add weight to the decision alright but I’m sure it just makes most people google both options and pick the best results.

General gameplay with the augs was great fun, I will definitely be replaying it for that. Also, even the side missions were very substantial and a few of them are particularly memorable.

Brilliant stealth game too, I did most of it in stealth, but also lethal. The scope to play the game however you want is very impressive, and a significant achievement in a game of this scope. Also a huge amount to explore, secrets, collectibles etc. There is a seriously impressive amount of hidden areas, I was still finding them after 80 hours.

Not quite as epic as DXHR for me, although DXHR was a 95% game for me. DXMD is definitely a 90% game but could have been even higher with better performance.

Finished this a couple of days ago. I had second thoughts about buying it after reading reviews on how short it was etc.

Glad I did take a punt as it has been a great game. I have put probably 60-70hrs+ into my first play through. There is so much to explore and do. I did a semi stealth/pacifist play through
(would have been total non-lethal if I didn't, for some reason, decide to take out all the Dvali in the casino with my pistol! I even won the conversation with Otar first too! lol

I managed to non-lethal Marchenko AND stop the delegates being poisoned - but jeez it took sooooo many headshots with the tranq rifle to put him down. I was just about to "go loud" after pumping something like 25 darts into him and I got the cut scene :D

I think I only scratched the surface with my augs. I played the game through with:

Basic smart vision
Icarus Landing (I only upgraded to that because I kept dying whilst falling from height whilst exploring! :p)
Maxed out all hacking augs
Cybernetic Arm Prosthesis - maxed
Cybernetic Weapon Handling upgraded to about half way
Half maxed out biocell efficiency etc
Implanted Rebreather
Cybernetic Leg Prosthesis - jump mod only
Glass Cloak - maxed.
I only installed glass cloak at the Garm facility

I was left feeling a little disappointed with the ending, however it seems that MKD has been set up as the first in a series, and the next iteration will follow on the story so perhaps the awesome ending will happen eventually :)

Lots of unanswered questions for me, although one of my suspicions was confirmed at the end:

I never did trust Delara, and I am glad to see my suspicions proved correct after being treated to a cut scene part way through the end credits :)
