Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

I personally did not have an issue with any of that. Just reduced mouse sensitivity slider and I was good to go.

What annoyed me was a short main story that was frankly not very good relative to other Deus Ex games, followed by the publisher messing about with silly things like breach mode etc.

Problem is getting a good balance between ADS and non-ADS - it doesn't seem to have any kind of ADS scaling like other games and if you set it up for good sensitivity when aiming its horrendously slow for normal movement, if you get it good for normal movement its twitchy and you tend to overshoot when aiming in combat.

Its strange that after a couple of patches finally sorted the problems with split X/Y sensitivity and sensitivity scaling with framerate but done nothing to look at the overall experience with mouse input.

Quite enjoying this game.

Question... has anyone else noticed any strange / odd artifacts on things like the overhead ceiling lights that you find in most of the apartments. It's also like some of the textures are missing (hard to explain really). As you move about and look up I can see almost blocky blank textures in the light flare ???

Also noticed something similar in my first encounter in the "Red light district". Outside the door to a club. Think they are meant to be lights pointing upwards. But see the same sort of blocky textures.

Don't think it's my Graphics card. As it only happens in a couple of places (and other games are fine). Tried different Nvidia drivers and removing my OC. Think it must just be a graphical glitch in the game.

Think I'll just ignore it. As 99.99% of the game runs just fine on a mixture of ultra / very high. All other games are totally fine. I suspect a lot of folks would not even notice this. You need to look very closely and at the right angles to even see it. Not a big issue. As in some 30 hours game play, I've only noticed it a couple of times. As it's in exactly the same point in the game environment, it just looks like something isn't being rendered correctly. From a quick Google I can see a few reported incidents of lighting and shadows not being rendered correctly. Even a couple of the patches seem to be addressing this sort of thing. Pretty decent game otherwise.

Actually come to think of it, although I've not observed the same issues I did have one oddity with tessellation. A flat cable type item kept popping up to several feet of height depending on what angle I looked at it. Once tessellation was disabled it rendered normally.

As you say though, it's a minor point in an otherwise highly enjoyable game.

Just got this in the Steam sale (£19.99). Only played the opening mission (Dubai) but I was getting pwned using the tried and trusted strategies I used in HR. Finally managed to finish up after reading you can
just make a dash for the helicopter and pull the battery out. I couldn't save the ally though.
Hopefully it will get better, but all I kept thinking, this is more like COD than Deus Ex, from the gobby British accented commando, to forcing you to push forward and not allowing time to explore the surroundings and build up a stealthy approach. It almost forced you into a stand up bullet sponge type fight.

It all goes back to what you know (and love) when you get to Prague. The Dubai bit is really just a tutorial. Hang with it.

Yes you are quite right, however I think I may have rushed ahead a bit. Been going through the Prague side missions but fear I may have bitten off more than I can chew arriving at Palisades. Need hacking skills and more armour/shielding/powerful weapons none of which I've really expanded yet. Currently skulking in one of the service passageways wondering what to do next.

MD seems geared towards computer hacking more than its predecessor, so when I got the Praxis reset I should probably have dumped points in that, rather than invisibility or Typhoon which aren't really needed so early in the game.

Also, is it me or does MD not have the auto unlocking gadgets that were in HR, to crack a computer or terminal higher than your rating?

I've also noticed if you EMP a robot, it only stuns it for a short while unlike HR where they were destroyed (Hunk Of Junk). Hence more ammo to clear a path to your objective.

You can pretty much find another way all the time.

Also there is an hacking tool. Seems you need to slow down a bit, explore the game and watch some in-game tutorials :D

Edit: Looking forward to the next DLC, hope it is better than the last one, which was just okay, not thing special.

You may be right, ;) .

In addition I now have the game crashing once I make it to the third floor of the bank and try to access the elevator to reach the quest area, just locks up without recovering. Loading the save game immediately before results in the same thing. So I've either got a glitched save game or the code is not behaving itself.

I bought this game a while ago, only played it for around an hr and havnt touched it since, seems quite a good game but its not optimized very well, its the only game ive tried so far I cant max out and get 60fps :( infact maxed out I get more like 30fps lol

think I may have another go at some point and try to get into it :)

I got a Steam refund after 45 minutes of trying to get it to run at an acceptable frame rate.

Strange. I'm almost 40 hours in and see between 60 to 80 FPS on my system, with a mixture of v/high and ultra. One thing I did notice, is that the real world FPS during game play, is far better than what the in game benchmark would seem to indicate.

Even on previous gen systems, you should be able to set decent frame rates with a few of the options turned down. Looks pretty decent even on high settings from looking at some of the tweak guides.

Trouble is people just want to whack the game on highest possible settings and have it work minimum 60fps. If you just lower a few of the settings that are very taxing you will find the IQ has not chanced much or at all and your fps has shot up :)

I was happy playing on average 40fps at 4K with a mixture of Ultra and Very High as I recall. Though I did turn off things like Depth of Field and Motion Blur etc which I find are a waste of fps and make IQ worse.

As mentioned above I also found that in game you get more fps than you get in the benchmark.

Hey stringo. Wunkley here with your friendly neighbourhood SLI fixes :p

This game is a bitch to get running right. I got obsessed and wasted a few hours, but here is THE solution.

(System is basically same as yours as you know, x99, 5930k, SLI 980Ti and x34 Gsync)...

1. Do not run in dx12. There have been a few updates recently but even though The framerate can be 'higher', the movement is horribly jerky and has terrible frame pacing issues.

2. Run in dx11 mode and - most important - use nvidia inspector and change the dx11 SLI bits to those for 'overwatch'.

2b. Do not use any MSAA. It cripples performance. Use the in game temporal aa and then the sharpen filter. I actually found this ok, but a bit meh in places so I made a simple reshade/ sweetfx profile with smaa, slightly milder sharpening and a few lift gamma gain tweaks to darken the shadows but not crush any blacks or lose details.

3. After this you can set most in game settings to the max. However, the ONE setting that continues to causes stutter problems is the texture setting. Took me ages to find out. Running at ultra, even though I monitor texture usage in game and it's within 6gb use most of the time, ultra textures causes terrible mini load stutters. Change the texture setting to very high and bang! Really smooth most of the time with far less hitching. I also cannot tell the difference between the 2 in game!

So, this is the first game that I haven't been able to run at max texture settings using 980Ti's. It's either a bug, or this is the start of 6gb not being enough :-(

Using the above I get about 70-85fps most of the time with very smooooth performance. This is in and around the Prague hub where the performance and stutters are at their worst.

One other interesting point to note is the in game benchmark is NOT representative of the actual game, especially when you get to the Prague level. In the benchmark dx12 is definitely the best with higher frame rates and smooth and stutter free, but in the actual game it's terrible as mentioned.

Cheers Wunkley, I might pick it up again in future although I'll probably be back single card by then as I've got my sights set on a 1080ti. I know the issues with this game aren't specifically SLI related but my second card was always a stop gap.

Having enjoyed pretty much flawless SLI performance since doubling up, I've recently encountered some challenges and disappointments like:

Deus Ex
Skyrim SE
Titanfall 2

It's frustrating that some Devs nail it from day one, and others just don't seem to bother at all.

No worries bud. Yep, I'm finding SLI much better this time around, but it still has its issues which is annoying. If you get one 1080ti you'll only end up getting another when a game comes out that needs it, and off we go again ;)

What issues does Titanfall 2 have? I was thinking of getting that as the single player campaign is meant to be very good. The first game never had a proper SLI fix (Always had flickering lights)

I found DX12 SLI on my Titan X (Maxwell) to be infinitely better than DX11...

Is that in game (Prague level) though, or just the benchmark bud? As mentioned above dx12 behaves very oddly in this game depending where you are. I've found definite frame pacing and hitching issues with dx12. Seems like dx12 is a complete waste of time so far, for any game.
