Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

What issues does Titanfall 2 have? I was thinking of getting that as the single player campaign is meant to be very good. The first game never had a proper SLI fix (Always had flickering lights).

It's pretty much single card usage, which isn't an issue really as a single 980ti drives it nicely even at our res. Just select recommended settings and then switch vsync off in game, and enjoy.

It looks and plays great, which is why games like this (Deus Ex) are such a disappointment... It must be laziness or cheaping out by the Devs.

Is that in game (Prague level) though, or just the benchmark bud? As mentioned above dx12 behaves very oddly in this game depending where you are. I've found definite frame pacing and hitching issues with dx12. Seems like dx12 is a complete waste of time so far, for any game.

Yes, that was playing the game in Prague.

I agree DX12 has been disappointing in most games, but I thought the Deus Ex SLI was very good.

40fps? No thanks, that's just not for me. I'm not interested in compromise just because the devs got lazy.

Yea, not every one is the same :)

40fps average is more than fine for me. It is not an online game, I play it slow and explore.

I have found minimum fps needed all depends on the game, even maybe the engine. I remember Crysis playing very well on low fps back when it came out :D

I remember that too, Crysis was playable at 35 FPS! However, most other games, including Deus Ex: MD, I find if FPS drop below 50-60 I do notice the stuttering which breaks the spell for me. Brilliant game here but performance was poor at times, especially in parts of prague.

Yeah, minimum acceptable fps seems subjective.

Just like monitor choice. I much prefer higher IQ over higher fps or hz. Happy with 30fps in a lot of games, but some definitely need 60. Like driving games I find 60fps much better :D

Further to my previous posting - I could not get the save game in Palisades Bank to load without instant lock up and game terminating. Had to use an earlier save and bypass that section for the time being, focus on the main plot. Will make sure I have a "good" save before entering the bank next time (assuming the mission is still there when you return from Golem) and the right kit to do the job.

Re the hacking tool, I found this in the crafting menu but needs something like 120 scrap pieces per unit so it's basically a choice of that or modding your weapons given the amount of material (not) lying around.

In my experience there were scrap materials everywhere. I had so much of it in the end even after upgrading my stuff. But I think that was due to my play style. I explored everything there is in an given area before moving on :)

Really loving Golem City, solved the
climbing puzzle and picked up various goodies from the side areas
now decided to go Judge Dredd
and execute most of ARC en route to Mr Rucker
.

Quick question - I presume once you finish the first playthrough, if you start a new game as in HR you can carry forward your augs and start from a much stronger position?

Now back in Prague after Switzerland (which reminded me of Operation Anchorage in FO3) but WTH is it with the State Police hostility? Makes it very difficult if not downright tedious to pursue both the main and side missions when you either have to dodge the cops en route to the next mission, or gun them down. I understand where the story is coming from, but for pity's sake Adam is supposed to be Interpol and not have to start murdering coppers just to move around the city. It's worse than Far Cry 2 where you burned up all your ammo and weapons getting by the re-spawned checkpoints moving round the map.

A real downer on what had up to then been turning into quite an enjoyable game. At least in HR when Detroit was in lockdown on your return, it did not affect your ability to navigate through the area.

I was done with exploring by that stage of the game, in one playthrough I killed them all. In another it was easy to run past them, so no issues for me as I recall :)

It was just more of a challenge. First playthrough, I used stealth to bypass the cops – you have so many augs and abilities and options in this game and if all else fails, you can even go invisible if you really need to get past a particularly tricky part. Second playthrough, no subtlety or stealth required - I just killed them all. A lot quicker and worryingly satisfying.

Respect the differing views but I still think it was a cheap trick to pad the latter end of the game rather than a couple of innovative side missions or something. Even Adam looks fed up by this point, clenching his fist as he walks through the dormant Metro to the next city location!

I know that second time round in HR, Belltower were hostile in Hengsha but at least they weren't packing battle droids and mechs!

finally got round to finishing this tonight and tbh wtf.

it just....ends

i thoguht i was maybe 75-80% through the game but nope thats it the end.

its weird also the end cutseen of the tedius news reader waspathetic

Decent enough game on the whole. But must say that I do tend to agree with you here.

Pretty much the same sentiment here, "finishing" it a couple of evenings ago. Obviously forewarned by all the previous comments and reviews, but in HR terms it was if that game finished after TYM. Thought I finally got enough XP and Praxis to start activating the better augs and suddenly... "do, what?"

My humour not helped by blundering into the worse of the two bad endings
I somehow triggered the Marchenko boss fight before going to see Miller (probably because every stealth move to take down the Guards ended in failure, so I went lethal and panicked the crowd) so the committee were alreay effectively dead.
.

Also agreed the PICUS news summary was a poor substitute for Adam reflecting on his actions, particularly as by that point I'd offed a fair few police and quite a number of civilians too. With the music playing over the dialogue it was quite hard to make out what Eliza was babbling on about, anyway. The fact there was no ultimate sacrifice ending as in HR leads the cynic in me to expect the story will continue via DLC.

The whole game just seemed less structured and immersive than HR. I didn't really care for any of the characters, whereas in HR I kept going back over the Malik helicopter crash until I got it right. The game gave the impression of being developed by a committee, going into development hell, then a watered down and confusing part finished mess came out at the end. I'll probably play through again on Game+ mode (I'm currently seeing out my latest ME trilogy playthrough) though I've got to be honest and admit playing X-Rebirth or circling Iceland in FSX is a more popular proposition.

Yes the ending felt very jarring and harsh to me too – I was expecting to go to that last area (Rabi’ah?) that they kept hinting at all game. Felt a bit weird alright to keep giving pointers for a place for the final level and then for it to never show up. I was expecting an epic final level in that ultra-cool looking place from the pictures.

True.

Plus the publisher messing about together with a relatively weak story really took the shine of this game. Could have been much better, very sad as they got a lot of things right.
