Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Square Enix Reveal new Deus Ex)

Does anyone know when the second dlc is coming out? I was expecting end of this month or early feb, as it said early 2017.

I do wonder if they took notice of all the negative feedback and are trying to give us a proper piece of dlc, hence why no set date yet.

I hope they spend the time to streamline the mechanics especially UI stuff and improve things like mouse input and some other movement stuff. One of the reasons I play games on PC is because I like to be immersed in the game with the freelook view and aiming, etc. seamless and fluid to my input - otherwise I'd play on console (which doesn't appeal to me).

^^ You are the only person I know that has that issue with this game. But everyone has a different standards and expectations I suppose. Have you played it recently? It has had lots of patches and even on steam forum I have not seen anyone complain about mouse or ui when I last looked not so long ago.

I am playing it on and off at the moment. No mouse or UI issues for me.

This game is kinda amazing so far? 15 hours in and I feel like scratching the surface. Doing some sidequests which are fun, beautiful world and level design. I do wish the Prague was more accurate and especially the czech used in some of the signs wasn't so hilariously broken - that speaks to some really shoddy work, some of their artists just used google translate and called it - but overall, impressive game so far. Pallisade bank, wow.

Was lots of people complaining on steam, etc. at release - they did fix some of the sensitivity scaling with framerate, acceleration and split X/Y sensitivity issues but its still not 100% especially the transition to ADS does some nasty things where its impossible to get a proper balance between normal and ADS sensitivity.

I last patched it a couple of weeks ago and was still a problem then.

EDIT: Just put the updated to the latest 2.5GB patch same thing - if I have a good mouse sensitivity for moving around normally the smallest mouse input when using ADS switches me from looking at one side of a corridor to the other and if I dial it down so that I can smoothly and precisely aim while in ADS then it takes like 3-4 swipes across my mousepad to look around when moving normally :(

Yes I dipped back in recently and performance was noticeably much better for me. Well, I don’t think FPS were particularly higher but it was so much smoother. Prague in the rain near the end had been stuttering previously but it was definitely much smoother alright – which is essential as any kind of stuttering kills immersion for me. Performance felt utterly broken on release which ruined the initial impact, sadly. I still maintain that there is a great game here hidden underneath the performance issues.

I am still doing the sidequests and exploration so I haven't even seen rain yet, but so far the game has been fairly smooth and consistent 60fps for me, almost maxed out, the only thing I have disabled are contact shadows, which just look unnecessary.
The cult sidemission was pretty cool. Now about to check some new Neon drug.

Thanks for that. Looking forward to it, hope it is longer and better than the last Dlc.

By the sounds of it mate you won't be seeing rain for a very long time yet. Lol.

Hmm hard crash today! Anyone else find this game crashes?

My PC is overclocked, but it's been stable for a long time and can play other games no problem.

I bumped the voltage a little just in case.. Event viewer said something about a storage driver.... but I don't believe it.

Most likely CPU, but like I said it's been stable for a long time now. Cant even remember how long. BF1, Witcher 3 no problems, this game and hard crash to the point PC restarted.

---

I did update the Nvidia drivers.

---

This is the thing I hate about OC'ing. Where once stable and for a while, suddenly prove false.

No, no crashes on either of my oc’d systems.

Don't expect another big Deus Ex game anytime soon

Bad news guys. It seems we will not be getting another Deus Ex game for a long time. Seems due to poor sales of Mankind Divided and also because the deal struck by Square Enix and Marvel, they will be shifting all the developers to marvel games and a new Tomb Raider game.

Here is the news story on eurogamer.

Really sucks this news. Was thinking we would get a new game in 2018 using the same engine. As I recall they were already working on the next game, but looks like it will be shelved now.

I am starting to get irritated by the constant silly decisions made by square enix. They had to go interfere with the development of Mankind Divided and mess it up. Then it got the bad reviews which led to poor sales, which now means waiting another 5-10 years for the next game :(

Not buying anymore of their games full price going forward I think. Will wait and get them at bargain bin prices or not at all. Deus Ex is such a great franchise which is being wasted by them.

They've screwed up one of the most seminal IP's in gaming and they should sell the rights to the sequel now or better still sell the IP all together - they are not going to make use of it and it's selfish to hold on and do nothing.

Considering how much I am enjoying MD, it really really sucks to see the franchise so mishandled by the idiots at Squeenix. Eidos Montreal did such a great job, I wish they could at least finish their trilogy.
Just did the Eliza Cassan sidemission yesterday, was great.

Agreed. I would be happy if they did that.

Pretty gutted by that news. Especially when I couldn't give a **** about a Marvel game.

Guess all hopes are on Cyberpunk 2077 for this genre now.

Exactly. Will not be buying the marvel stuff, no interest.

Really looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077, even more so now.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. 10+ years means I'll be in my 40s by the time I get to see the conclusion. That's just depressing on every level. Ah well, it's Cyberpunk or bust.

DX MD wasn't that far off the mark - the performance issues killed it for me at the start alright and if they had not done Breach mode (seriously, who on earth thought that was a good idea?) and put all that time and effort (they wasted SO MUCH time and money on Breach) into the main game, it would have been fine.

DXHR was the best game I'd played in years. MD was a worthwhile successor in many regards, aside from the significant mis-steps.
