Devil May Cry Official Thread

After looking at some of the comment, I have to say each to their own, I've just spent the past couple of days playing it. And i have to say it's like the other 3, with better graphics.

If the only improvement this game has over the others is the graphics that's hardly a bad thing. Considering how good the others were. I Loved it. Will be purchasing it shortly.

Should point out the loading times on the 360 are anything but slow, not sure how quick the PS3 loads but the 360 its not an issue, makes you wonder about the motives behind some of those reviews though as they were clearly lying in most of them about loading times, Sony paying their way to the top again....

Haven't played the 360 version other than the demo, But the PS3 loading is near instantaneous when it comes to Cutscenes going into Action and back.

Level loading is a few seconds.

So same as 360 then, yet some reviews claiming up to 3 times longer loading, very revealing.

Probably won't be able to tell for sure till someone plays both. Hell, I may go out and buy it soon, I loved it on PS3, And considering I don't own one, I'll be getting the 360 version. So I'll know for sure then. :p

I just found this video on Youtube. probably a better video on IGN or something.

But it shows both versions look pretty much identical, both graphically and load times.

Now and again, The games fall behind each other by like a second, but keep in mind thats more down to the fact the players aren't in perfect sync, Rather than the game itself.

Anyways, Looks good. I proper want it now :p

*edit*

Something I forgot to add, Control wise, PS3 version is better for me.

Basically because it's what I'm used to in past DMC games, When i picked up that controller, I felt like I'd never put the pad down, Where as with the 360 on the demo, It took some getting used to various combinations. That said, once i've got the game on the 360, I'm pretty sure that with time, I'll be just as used to the 360 version. :)

hi im really frustrated with the save option, you can save anytime you want so you expect it to load at the save point. instead you just start at the beginning of the mission. also i saved the game just after i finished a mission...come back to play later on and i start the mission before it...so please tell me im doing some thing wrong....how many of you use automatic moves?

Any tips on beating Credos? lol

This guy is hard! and I haven't enough orbs left for any vital stars! dammit!

I thought he was impossible at first then got used to his attacks and he was a piece of cake.. is often the case with the bosses in DMC!

Anyway, if you still haven't beaten him the fight generally comes down to dodging his attacks and getting him while he's vulnerable. E.g if you try to Snatch him with your demon arm he charges you - dodge that charge and attack him. Also his sword combo that ends in him leaving a scratch in the ground (if I remember right), I think he's vulnerable for a few seconds after that so dodge it and abuse him (sword combo followed by buster might work). Also whenever he appears stunned try and Buster him, if it's at the right time it'll do a supercombo thing that does a load of damage (if you can figure out when this supercombo is available do it with Devil Trigger running for even more damage).

Cheers dude, VERY nearly had him at one point, but when he goes ape at you it's very difficult to keep dodging those attacks!

WOOOOT

From the 3 times I've fought him it always happens on his last 2 segments of life, which I just think that it is a stylish combo/animation to finish the fight.

You can also throw his lances back at him with the Devil Bringer if you can get the timing right (which I find god damn impossible :p) each time you pull it off, it will drop a green orb to restore some health.

You might be right bout the supercombo but I have a feeling I managed to get one earlier on in the fight. Didn't know that bout the lances, that's cool. :)

In the final fight I managed to pull off the supercombo thingy twice, the second time I hed Devil Trigger and he really hurt after that! :D

But that made him mad :(

EDIT: I've been all this way through the game so far without being Dante, is that correct?

Tried the demo of the game this morning quickly. Its not a very deep game, is it? Run towards weird looking creature, hack and slash. Run to next creature, hack and slash.

The only other game I have to compare this to is ninja Gaiden which I am currently playing, which is is a similar vein to this... but this just felt so shallow and simple in comparison.

Very pretty, but the game seems like it could get old pretty quickly.

It's way deeper than Ninja Gaiden imo, you have a ton of combo's to learn and upgrades to make in the full game.
