Diablo 3 (Console versions)

Downloaded the demo on 360 last night to play with the mrs ..today.

Having owning this on pc, and using the rmah (made my money back from the game+more) i've not touched it since they added paragon levels.

So shall see how things go and might get this on 360 also! Can't make up my mind atm and if its worth £33 .. :P

Finished the game with my Demon Hunter now, ended up about level 32. Started again on nightmare but not sure I can be bothered to keep playing acts just for the sake of it, I presume you just replay up the difficulty levels purely for better gear?

Nightmare difficulty seems no harder than normal so far, you can pretty much just slow everything and blast with rapid fire or elemental arrows before anything gets near you. Good fun though but not sure enough fun to keep replaying over and over.

The elites and bosses get new skills as well as you get new runes for your existing ones so the gameplay for lvls 40-60 is totally different from 1-30+-.

Normal is only like a tutorial to be honest and the real game doesn't start until Hell / Inferno :-). Have fun slowing elite pack with teleport, jailer and immunities later on.

Really, i've died loads on normal

I run in with my Barbarian while my son's DH fires arrows etc...i'm popping Health potions at an alarming rate :)

The better gears start dropping in Inferno - there are also the Uber bosses that you can fight in Inferno only to get the Hellfire ring.

Lots left in the game yet. Best thing to do if you dont want to go through it again is get someone to level your character up to lvl 60 using higher MP (their character need to be stronger than yours) so that you can 'skip' through the grind between Nightmare and Hell.

Once in Inferno the lvl 60 gears will drop including legendaries and set items and they will boost your character masively on console version (unlike PC version which is another story).

Get your sons DH equipped with dual crossbows or crossbow / quiver depending on what drops with the highest dps, equip rapid fire and they will be dead before you get hit to much to die, atleast on normal difficulty anyway!

I have a low level barb that I use when myself and the misses play, she uses a wizard and I found myself using a lot of health potions although that could also be because the misses cant aim in any sort of direction whatsoever with the controller stick so I'm usually dying and she is shooting backwards but thats another matter.

Ok, I will probably carry on then but not quite at the pace I was before! Can't really use the character boost method you said about as I don't have xbox live gold. Most of the time I play PC but after reading how Blizzard "messed up" the PC version I decided to go Xbox with this one. Don't really want to get gold just for one game.

Which acts would you recommend for the grinding stages?

I presume you mean what stage to get experience on solo? The answer to that would be no specific stage in Nightmare and Hell as the monster density is not large enough on these stages but if I was to use the character boost method I would ask someone to run through Act 3 the Keep stages a few times.

Also make sure a have a socket in your helm and stick a big ruby gem in it - this will give you added experience bonus so hopefully get to lvl 60 faster.

Completed normal with the missus, despite being a really busy week workwise last week. Enjoyed it and now to grind nightmare -> Inferno till we hit level 60.

Do you find a lot more blacksmith/jewel 'paper'/tombs? Just a pain when both of us are running and having to split between the 2 of us, may be worth one of us focusing on jewel and blacksmith the other. How's everyone doing it (in coop)?

I do have a SP character on the go and just completed normal too, so not too big a problem if I play grind that character too when the missus isn't home...

Got my baba to Act 3 Inferno now :) Think it's fair to say it was a worthwhile purchase for me, just got to remember to do other things now and again!

Regarding splitting loot, I've managed to get the missus interested in it but using the same profile feels really awkward for loot. Every time we went back to town I basically had to take over both controllers and sort out our gear (work out if I had picked up items that were upgrades for her and vice versa, and then drop anything extra from her toon so I could salvage as she couldn't access the blacksmith). Similarly she had no access to the stash. Have we set something up wrong or is this just how it works? Feels very clunky and I had hoped gear drops would be shared better.

In my co-op game with the wife (she has her own Xbox profile so her character is her own), I look after all the jewel crafting, while we split the blacksmithing equally. We've found that when my Demon Hunter (heavily dex based) has an item crafted by the Blacksmith, it is very likely to have a dex bonus. When she uses her Wizard to craft items, they come out much more likely Intelligence based. That seemed to point to us both having to level up the Blacksmith as we go equallly. We're both at level 34 now and have the Blacksmith around level 5, so never really too far ahead of where our character levels are.

That's pretty much what I do, though she knows what items are best for her (anything Intelligence based suits her Wizard really), so we change gear through the levels as needed. Like you, when we get back to town I take over both controllers so I can quickly salvage/sell all the gear that isn't needed any more.

Currently playing this and hooked again , on normal level 30(DH) and still yet to reach Magda.

Currently playing with the mrs too wiz and barb. I don't enjoy the looting system no idea why they couldn't random drop to each player like pc version.

So like the rest of you telling the mrs to look out for things and slowly upgrading the blacksmith but atm the legendary drops are nuts! :D
