Did work get you a Xmas gift?

Got a £50 Love2Shop voucher and 2 hours off work today. :) There was also a paid Christmas meal last week at lunchtime but I had to skip that as I had another appointment that was more important.

Not really, I mean I got a free extra day off today... but no! Not being contacted at all in the next couple of weeks by work is a gift in itself! One I will happily take!

50 quid gift voucher
Swedish Xmas meal buffet with a drink and bowling.
Boss was totally wasted hugging everyone, tested my British resolve. Will file a formal complaint on Monday.

We got 3 days extra leave as we shut down over Christmas. So basically 3 days for free. Which is sweet considering we already get 36 days holiday!

Oh and a few extra points in our perkbox accounts which his also cool.

2 hour Xmas quiz over MS Teams. That's it.

Jealous, we had no quiz this year and last year's was only an hour.

I haven't heard back from my appeal about my demotion. I think they're leaving it until after Xmas. I guess that's a gift as there's still some, although small, hope. Hah.

My SS got me a Nerf gun, so technically yes.

Hopefully a bonus next week as we've had a great year - they gave us a 'cost of living' payment which was unexpected and welcomed.

My wife started work for a new contract / company this week. They sent her some very nice Belgian Chocs as an Xmas gift which arrived on Friday, delivered from Belgium no less.

I was impressed.

Nothing yet. Only joined midway through the year, so don't know what the norm is. I'm not holding out much hope though. They pay well so I guess I should be happy with that.

Come to think of it, very few of my previous jobs have given much in the way of Christmas gifts. Certainly not some of the hefty bonuses mentioned in here!

Never worked somewhere that closed between Christmas and New years either, so have always had to use my annual leave to get the time off.

For reference, I've always worked in IT for companies of varying shape/sizes/sector.
