Time to dust off the wheel this weekend I think, looks like a completely different game handling wise since I last played

I think I'll have more luck pulling a shipping container into port than driving 5 corners on the snow without crashing into the banks.

I've fiddled with the gamepad options as I haven't used a wheel for DiRT yet.

I find I'm quite the opposite, I prefer the snow as for me it makes the drifting easier so I find it easier to go into sharp turns faster as the snow generally carries your momentum around. Got my wheel working tonight though, been struggling since feels completely different compared to the 360 controller!

Yes it takes a while to get used to a wheel but once your back in the swing it will pay dividends.

the rain effect in this game is excellent. almost as good as Drive Club.

You can download setups from the Workshop, just subscribe to the relevant car and it will be available during setup. Should have the right longer gear ratios in there for stage like Finland.

even if auto when you unlock a car past first level you can go advanced and change all car settings. one rally will normally unlock this for a car.

for gearing if you get upto to max speed too quick and maxxed out and a lot of straights you will lose quite a bit of time. so just set gears longer.

if its a windy track shorter gears will be better.

Any word on DLC for this, I would love a few more environments?

Also it would be great if there was a ghost to race "against" when trying to beat your best times (like in Mario Kart). Better still a ghost of one of your mates' laps...

Any mods out there that do this?

Who needs the gym when you can do some snow stages with the scort mk2

gone back on my career mode never got passed the 70s bit. Getting horrible FPS slowdowns in some places though never had that when I used to play it, what are the FPS killers? I've turned shadows and AA down a bit but it's still happening.

sweden is brutal.you cant mess up hardly at all snow bank catches you good night


just done a great run after about 2 hrs practicing it though

got 2nd in world. amazing track but god damn its hard flat out.
