DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

the cars that take time to master and i wouldnt start off with are the lancia 037, stratos, renault 5 or Peugeot 205 t16.

they are most advanced cars. the rwd lancias are a lot harder to control master.

2010 class is a nice medium of easy handling and speed.the problem though with that class its hard to get top times as everyone can race them cause they are so easy.

I started off with the Fulvia and still had a lot of fun:p It's easy to drive and really forgiving. To quote Richard Hammond: "Hey, it's ugly but at least it's... slow.":p Seriously though, Fulvia is a beautiful car but not overly exciting.

Then I moved onto the Kadett and RS200 and after that modern 4WD felt like an arcade game:p

What doesn't help is I've no idea where I should be with time, should I be comfortably beating the 1st place AI on all these stages or what? I'm always second.

Gets a bit tedious with the constant restarts.

well you have a green time which means you up and red obviously means you behind in the sector.

if you just starting out you are in the easiest class then it starts to step up.each championship you win.

well that depends on how decent you are. open is pretty easy but you still have to learn. i struggled when i first started . now i can hammer masters time by upto a minute up in some cars.

also some classes are harder to win than others against ai.

on easier comps you get shorter events also.as you progress you get faster ai longer tracks mixxed in and more events per championship.

Battering the AI with the classic mini now, Wales is a still a pain in the arse though.

I have all the aids off but I can't set the controller up to be comfortable though with a manual box which is a shame, I'd rather sacrifice and use the auto box but keep the handbrake.

Had a few weeks off from this. Decided to get back into it after seeing the new patch drop and continue the Group A championship. Currently on Finland and suffering major 'micro stutters' I used to get the odd one here and there when I played it before, but I could count them on one hand in the months I've been playing it. They're like every 5-6 seconds now and ranging from a quick stutter to a half second pause, it's pretty much unplayable trying to concentrate on finishing a stage. :(

Any ideas? I've had a look on the codemasters and steam forums, seems to be a thing that people suffer from, but no cure.

(I also play Assetto Corsa/Project Cars and a handful of other games I don't have any stutter issues with those)
