Had a few weeks off from this. Decided to get back into it after seeing the new patch drop and continue the Group A championship. Currently on Finland and suffering major 'micro stutters' I used to get the odd one here and there when I played it before, but I could count them on one hand in the months I've been playing it. They're like every 5-6 seconds now and ranging from a quick stutter to a half second pause, it's pretty much unplayable trying to concentrate on finishing a stage. :(

Any ideas? I've had a look on the codemasters and steam forums, seems to be a thing that people suffer from, but no cure.

(I also play Assetto Corsa/Project Cars and a handful of other games I don't have any stutter issues with those)

Try locking your GPU's FPS to match your monitors refresh rate you can use Afterburner install Reviaturner when prompted and use that to lock you FPS.

This should help with the stuttering.

My 980Ti is locked at 60 FPS to match my 60HRTz moniters refresh rate, no stutters and very smooth..

DFGT Wheel Service.

Hi, anybody who's had there DFGT wheel a good while l bought mine secondhand about a year ago was getting a bit stiff + noisy, so decided to clean and grease the internal wheels. To take the top cover off take out 7 chrome screws and the undo black nut that holds the gear stick from base underneath and the cover should just come off.

On taking the cover off l gave it a good blast of air to remove any dust from all the ciruitboards/wheels and noticed the lack of grease on them.

So to lubricate the gear wheels and a flat moving white bar underneath a metel support brace held in by two black screws+two chrome screws>Note the metel support brace only fits one way.

The lubricate l used was Weldtite TF2 Lithium Grease[Anti Corrosive, Anti Seize, Long Life] bought from a bike shop 40g Tube about £2.50.

To which l applied the grease to the teeth of each wheel and spread it with a cotton bub into the teeth till the wheel was fully done.

Now the flat moving bar dab abit on its base rail and again spread it with a cotton bud till the rail is done, replace the support brace dab a bit grease on each off the two black screws+two chrome screws tightening fully home till it stops and no more

Remove any access grease make sure the the rocking bar with a spring either side is properly home before you replace the cover where the gear stick goes, check to see that the cover is properly in place.

Then bab each of the severn screws with grease, tightening fully home till it stops and no more, now re-insert the gear stick its keyed and will only go in one way and screw the nut home.

Note: All the chrome screws are all the same size, as well as the two black one's. Be carefull not to snag wires or get any grease on the cicuitboards or wires.

After putting the DFGT wheel back together and connected back up to my PC started up Dirt and noticed straight away it was a lot smoother with less noise due to friction making the steering wheel turn a lot better was well worth doing.:)

@Dg, im using a GTX 560ti at the moment as my 980ti just got sent off for repair/replacement. Im on 362.00 I believe. It was the same on newer drivers with my other card. It's not happening too often though.

Set to high, running a good 50 fps+ on most tracks :) Exactly the same pausing as before, but I can live with it tbh.

*falls off cliff*

damn lancia 037.

Anyone explain how this works in game, there are like slots for engineers, if i buy like 2 or 3 engineers, are they all active all the time ? i mean say i buy a perk for one that is for just for 4 wheel drive cars, and i have another engineer that has perks for 60's cars, do i have to chouse what engineer out of the 3 for a certain rally ? and as there are like 10+ different rally categories, how do i get a engineer for them all with only a few slots ? or do all engineers work on all cars regardless of perks ? and if that is the case, why do we need more than one engineer, cheers, nothing is explained as no manual i can see that explains all this.

Think you maybe onto something there as I turned off vsync to see if it made a difference and I had no stutters at all. Cheers I'll give that a go :)

Got the game yesterday, but it is crashing as soon as the race is about to start...
After loading when it will start the race my game crashes :(

Try the verify integrity of game cash and it will check all the files are complete:)

Never had any crashes personally but make sure your on latest drivers ect also.

I verified the integrity twice, my windows is a fresh installation and I'm using the last drivers for all devices.

I have a DFGT and this seems worth doing. But can I ask why you put grease on the screws?
