DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

Could not get on with paddles for shifting. Because they turn with wheel was nightmare trying to press them at times. It was nicer having shift as handbrake though, so may go auto shifting. If I can figure out how.

Had enough money to go into 1970's so got myself for escort... Couldn't keep the darn thing on the road...

Yeah I bought the Escort thinking it would be epic throwback lols. Instantly regretted it as I exit every corner (and straight for that matter) backwards :(.

Well, I'm a bit disillusioned with this now as I was struggling to get high enough placing to open up the Masters Championship, just couldn't get higher than 4th in the Elite, couldn't figure out WTF I was supposed to do as I was flat out, completely unable to see how I could go any faster, I watched a few Videos on YouTube and I noticed their Cars were doing stuff mine just would not do, then the penny dropped... They were using the Assists. I turned ON ABS and TC put them both on 3 to see what difference they made and was gutted to see I was getting 1st and 2nds even when picking up a Penalty or Spinning, talk about easy mode. :( It's just ruined the Game for me now if you're going to need Assists just to place anywhere decent in the Career Mode.

I've got all assists off except ABS on low and find it just the right amount of difficult. If I get it bang on I will come in the top 3, but if I crash more than once or twice I'm down to 4th or lower. I like that its challenging.

I've got every assist off no wonder I'm only coming 3rd and 4th :S

I guess it's why my car seems so unstable over the bumps and on youtube everyone else is cutting the sides of the track and the car just stays glued to the road instead of bouncing all over with the rear swinging left to right desperately trying to stay in a straight line

3:30 how my car feels with assists off when it hits dem bumps

no word of a lie i tried with all assists on other day after some guy ranting on dirt forums about how easy it was and how hed shaved off like 20 secs or something on his times. i tried sweet lamb and was down by 10 secs on first two sections LOL.

it slows you down not speeds you up unless you that bad with assists off that assists make you finish the track :p

you get a good driver in game and same drive with assists on im telling you with assists on you will be slower overall.

some must help though like abs?
I noticed when I originally turned assists off the car seems to slide slightly more which I guess helps in the slower corners.
I guess if your just doing career it's better to have them off for the increased reward though.

well obviously if you can handle the car better then no assists you will be better.

as said no assists my time on sweet lamb is probably 10-15 secs different to assists on. for the worse.

you can tell instantly. the car bogs down so slow.

**** it I give up until they make changes.

steering feels completely disconnected from the wheel no matter what settings or rotation I try.

the FFB makes it feel like playing without any FFB and the ffb mod is dire imo.
just feels like the default settings with the volume turned up.

Honestly felt more connected to the car playing with keyboard

TBH it's almost like the cars turn on a circle, makes me move the wheel far to much going into a corner and them I'm constantly correcting it simply because I don't feel like part of the car

I don't mind wales and monaco so much but greece on the gravel is pathetic it's like driving on 2feet of air in a car with no mass

Finally won a stage in championships after putting my wheel to 270 rotation :S

was reading some people saying to set it to 900 and just adjust the sensitivity in game so might try that next time I get the urge to play.

BTW someone got a car list that was in the background of some amd first look video

I guess the pikes peak cars come when the track does

Not sure how much the community really get to shape this game tbh since everything is already mapped out and planned.

unless the game sells well in early access they aren't going to get more money to include other stuff, and they obviously won't cancel planned stuff and put community suggestions instead
