bit sceptical of some of early benchmarks myself .

i think the 5870 will be a bit under a 295 or level

and the 5850 about ten percent quicker than a 4890 or there abouts.


i got a funny feeling we gunna get stung on prices though :D

I want a 5870.

If priced too high by December,t hen a 5850.

If the same, then 4890.

If the same, then 4870.

If the same, then 4850.




I just realised I'm a cheap b-
 
Looking at those results the 295GTX is ahead or even owning until its VRAM limited... so nVidia just need some affordable 1024Mb "GX2" cards to compete...
 
wonder if the 5870 2gig would improve on them scores a lot/

Rroff trouble is by the time they get the 295 with 2gig the x2 could be out but you are right it does look like it vram limited

Put it this way... on nVidia I find x4 is fine - I never percieve jaggies ingame unless I actually go looking for them... when playing on ATI cards I have to increase it to x8 for the same effect - probably due to selective optimizations not working quite as well as they could.
