Disgusting display of Racism

The media were falling over themselves to denounce the awfulness of the people he pointed the finger at - oh this is such a hallarious and yet sad state of affairs.
Bang goes the compensation cheque and book deal.

looking for the video, to judge his sincerity, but he apologized on twitter (I know Boris releases policy via twitter)
we had so far just seen his indignant/angry testimonial and if he can't appreciate that a tweet is inadequate , well live and die by the sword.

Public is still only playing with half a deck of cards when we can't see the report to see the enduring incidence of his accusations, otherwise they can be categorised like his racism.

People really have no idea what racism is anymore.

That's remarkable given how often some like to try to tell others all about it at every opportunity ;)

"Racist" must be the most sweeping and overused condemnation by many commentators on social media, yet given rational thought, is preference for some races over others any different or worse than any other personal subjective thought or opinion?

At this point I think you can just go and replace "The Force" in Star Wars with the word "racism" and that's exactly how people see it in modern western society.

It's not an act any more, it's a feeling, interwoven, permanent and everlasting. The question is, who will bring balance?

People really have no idea what racism is anymore.

Its a stick used to beat people with, used by those who have no rational thought or evidence behind their arguments. Its like hate crimes and transphobia. There are concrete cases of all 3 but the vast vast vast majority of it is just people who maliciously use it to get their own way or play the victim for personal gain.

Its become a cheat card that people play. If you can either align yourself with the right group or happen to be part of that group through the miracle of chance then you can just scream "ism" at the right people and magically get your own way.

we're still waiting for other coloured cricketers to corroborate Rafiq's accusations/experience too, lone'ish voice
Gary Ballance has admitted to using racist language to Rafiq - though he calls it banter. Though by your terminology you might just be trolling.

Some of it has and he is pushing for a clear out at the top. I could be wrong, but if I'm right expect to see Rafiq himself in a leadership role at the club within the next 24 months. This whole thing, when you take a step back and look again, really looks like a massive power play.
You do realise he made complaints years ago, and most allegations were upheld. The board then decided that even though they found he was racially abused, and did not act when he first raised complaints, that no-one should be disciplined. To me that shows the board does not take racism seriously. Whilst it is a sport club, it is also a work place and it needs to act. Institutional racism is an overused term, but does apply here.

I'm surprised no one has demanded that the use of "ma ******" be removed from the film Idiocracy...... Especially as its directed to a white guy and a mixed race actress

Just a shame he's turned out to be a racist himself.

Just because he made a racist tweet in the past does not excuse the behaviour of Yorkshire cricket. They allowed racist language to be used amongst the players and staff. Ballance has said that Rafiq used "banter" as well. Allowing this culture to be normalised by any player/staff is the issue for me.

So racist complains about people being racist then? You couldn't make this stuff up.
