Dissapointed....

You must be cursed 2 gpu's with the same fault!! Have you asked them to change it for another brand? If you keep getting issues and they have agreed there is a fault if you use another gpu and get the same issue it is not the gpu!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you must know someone nearby who has a TV with HDMI. You could ask nicely and take your PC to try on their TV.

This would rule out any problem with the monitor cable, the monitor and the adapter.

Also, before you do that, try using the other DVI output on the graphics card.

If you try what I say, and it works OK on a different display, then this will show you that the fault lies in the cable, monitor or adapter.

If you have the same fault on a different display then it's virtually certainly the GPU.
 
Have you tried adjusting the "clock" setting using your monitor's On Screen Display? Page A13 of the manual.

Have you tried the other DVI connector on the card?

Is your display resolution set to 1680x1050 @ 60Hz, 32 bit colour depth?

Do you get this problem only when playing games or is there when you're just on the desktop?

Is one of them a .inf file? You'd go to your monitor in device manager and choose update drivers, then browse my computer for drivers, then point to the .inf file. At least that's what you used to do. To be honest I dont think it'll help you. A monitor driver is literally just a list of what modes it can support and not much else. Cant see it having any effect.

Select the monitor in Device Manager.

Right click and select update driver.

Select no to connect to Windows Update.

Select install from a list or specific location.

Select don't search i will select the driver to install.

Click "Have Disk".

Browse to the driver you downloaded and select the driver to install.

Probably not but we need to rule everything out.
 
Didnt help.

I get the problem in games, not in the desktop
After forcing nvidia vsync on, it seems to help a lot, but its still there. the lines seem to be frozen in one place so its hard to see them, but still there
Tried other DVI connector.

Ill have to see a friend or something ?
 
So far ruled out:

PSU
Memory
GPU (Probably, cant see having 2 gpus having the same exact problem. this one being new aswell)

Whats left

Monitor / Adapter / Mobo

?
 
You're probably frying them with all that radon gas from those Scottish hills.

From what I understand certain mobo's have probs with the 460's & need their bios updating. Whether this would cause those symptoms tho I've no idea....sure someone will correct me in all of this along the way....
