Distasteful vegan TV ad

Very rare we get eggs from the supermarket these days. Usually grab some by the side of the road or from people we know. Not sure I could give up cheese, its a weakness for me. Cows milk I possibly could work around it, love a cup of tea though...tried soy milk and its vile.

Lentils, chickpeas, nuts. The way I've read it when I've looked into it, you can no longer think of a single source of protein ie a piece of meat. You need to add protein sources throughout.
Don’t like any of those. The only nuts I like are KP dry or honey roasted

I just have to accept veganism isn’t for me. I tried that viva vegan shawarma meat once, almost threw up. Tasted so odd to me

I went through a good majority of alternatives (types and manufacturers) over a few of the lockdowns and honestly, without massively compromising taste, texture and look, you're going to really struggle with tea. Oat, almond, soya or cashew is probably the better alternatives although they generally give it a little 'off' taste (and sometimes sweet) but it will look like you've dredged a canal.
Coffee you can get away with most alternatives although Minor Figures Barista oat alternative is one of the best (little expensive), especially if putting it through steam as it doesn't appear to split like other oat alternatives (or other alternatives full stop).

And the worst alternative is easily hemp, one sniff and the smallest of swigs was all it took for it to end up down the sink; absolutely horrendous.

Ultimately people like what they like but as long as folk are open to trying and tasting new foods then it's all gravy in my books.

Edit - What @omnomnom said

I still salivate in the Now eating thread. I treat it as nasty porn but with less guilt.

The thing is its not about trying alternatives its not that simple either eat meat or dont. Its not hard.

Yep it made it look like it had been sitting in the cup for 2 days, then it felt like it was coating my mouth.

I don't often have a coffee and could probably enjoy it black, prefer the smell of it rather than the taste.

Are all the alternative pretty much the same then?

I think I miss tea the most and hot milk coffee. Black sweet coffee Im fine with now.

oatly makes great coffee imo and is fantastic on cereal.

tea however I would give up if I could not have proper milk (that said that would not be a problem am much more a coffee person)

but the price needs to come down for a start if it really is gonna take off to replace milk for those hard up.

also oatly had some issues a while back with links to deforestation and green washing.... so whilst I drink it sometimes because I like it, given personally my need to cut down meat is more environmental than I am more worried about than evils of eating meat, it's a frying pan and fire scenario.
