The only solution I personally see, as touched a few times, is lab grown meat if it matches taste texture and nutrients, that’s my hope. I’d rather Bill Gates etc funded that than Beyond Meat etc, the former is more likely to be accepted, in my opinion anyway.

You better start building laboratories and pumping money into education while hoping that a sustainable model will be found at some point.

Remember people, vegan / vegetarian is a privilege not a right! Therefore you are in as very good position in life to have that First World choice :D

In poorer areas of the world, they eat what they catch. If not, then they go hungry and probably die.

Indeed. Veganism is a niche life style choice open to a tiny amount of the population. I’m not sold on the health or social aspects either.

Yep, if you look at the most powerful animals in the world they are carnivores. I don't see a cow on that list.

The only exception are elephants and even they get hunted and eaten by carnivores if small enough.

If you have seen what they're trying to do with Lab Grown meat, you wouldn't touch it was someone else's bargepole

It would be akin to Cannibalism, don't trust it, don't touch it.

And that's fine, vegans acknowledge that in survival situations, where there is no credible alternative, eating meat can be justified. This has been mentioned several times during this thread.

And yes I do feel privileged to have so many vegan options available to me, it makes he decision to be vegan very easy. But this privilege also extends to many aspects of my life as I am very very fortunate to live in one of the wealthiest countries on the planet.

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind here but I feel my choice to try and reduce as much harm as possible in my life is worth defending. Yes it's not perfect, but it's a start.

Lol wut. The largest marine mammals don't hunt. The largest land mammals don't hunt.

Erm maybe, is cruising along funnelling up small fish and shrimp hunting?

I just like humpback whales TBH.

No. And on land you're down to number 24 on the list of largest animals before you hit the polar bear.

it's a derail (but we are a million miles from the topic of this thread anyway - which is about advertising so what the heck

I had the privilege of swimming with a whale shark once . coming back from a scuba dive it just cruised past our boat. utterly incredible.
