Divinity: Original Sin 2

Starting act 2 now been some amazing story telling along the way. Fight at the end of act 1 was quite difficult but managed to use the boss to my advantage.

Just installed......

Stage 1 - try solo forget it time to re-roll
Stage 2 - Made a thief got 2 party members ---- managed to get into the cells --- Losing all fights---- Re-roll
Stage 3 - Not made the mistake as above now have 4 member party --- Third time lucky :)

Its quite good so far, not gripped me as much as the first one but i guess it warming up somewhat :)

I loved DoS and DoS:2 but the last fight was just too hard for me o got these and gave up, especially as I was playing it 2-party member and pretty melee heavy

Some of the mechanics are very annoying, tried the maze fight last night, constant fireballs, burning, AOE from mobs, I am lvl 5 against lvl 7... back to wandering around the island considering going back to the castle to clear that first.

Early game is very challenging, especially so if you're not completely au fait with the mechanics and levels to do certain things.

Its annoying when your rain spell lasts half the time of a poxy skelton who casts fireball, and get no time for a freeze :)

Back to the castle for me :)

Great game this one. At first I wasn't a fan but once you reach reapers coast I realised why all the reviews rave about the game.

One issue I need help with. I have the witches potion to give to the cows but none of my characters can speak to them.

How do I achieve this so I can give them the potion?

Thanks

It's one of those talents that really adds a whole lot more to the game, but annoying that it takes up a talent slot. There is a mod on the workshop that gives you the talent for free, definitely worth having if you want to "explore" everything the game has to offer :)

I enjoyed it but found it very very tedious at the same time.

The thing that really really grated me was the quest tracking system or more to the point quest confusion system. Not be hand held is fine however the way the game tracks quests is shockingly bad, same goes for inventory management and another pointless crafting system for crafting sake.

Hey bJN, do you know what that mod is?

I have never played the original Divinity and haven't really been following or interested in Divinity 2. I just watched a couple of YouTube lets play/review videos and immediately bought it on the steam store!

I think I was always put off by the thought of 'turn based' RPG but it doesn't look half as frustrating as I thought it would!

I'm guessing I should say goodbye to my life?

The 1st game is well worth playing as well. Also check out Pillars of Eternity 1 + 2 if you haven't played them. Very similar games.

I loved the first game, but could not get into this one. Gave up after around 15 hours. Not sure what it is, the story, the characters, the locations? It is just not the same... :(

I didn't think I'd enjoy it when I first started playing, but once you get to the second chapter you will be hooked.

It took me 100hrs to finish the game.

Well worth it.

I'm playing this game now and it is INCREDIBLE. I thought Witcher 3 had the best side quest integration of all time but this game absolutely destroys it in that regard.

I'm on Act 2, about 40-60 hours in, exploring everything. Playing on Tactician and is an absolute delight.
