Divinity Original Sin

I found that the 1st fights were the hardest, once you've got a few levels under your belt then you'll start to know what you want your characters to specialise in and the fights do start getting pretty easy later on.

I started with a fighter & a 1 handed & shield wielding, pyrotechnic battlemage, by the end of the game the battlemage was an archer who hardly used any magic apart from one of the healing spells.

This was why I gave up on the game, shortly after I unlocked the stronghold.
I had a full party of story characters. a lot of who are casters but there were all being more productive when armed with bows and guns.
My ranger did some nice dps but couldnt survive more than a few hits from anything.
Monsters were teleporting around all over and ignoring my tanks.
Casters suffer too much from being penalised for missing.

I went with 2 melee, 1 melee/caster & 1 pure caster to start with. There's no getting around it, it's an extremely difficult game to start with.

When you get Jahan in Cyseal he has a teleport spell which I always used to move monsters away from the casters & into melee range of my fighters, think the rain & freezing spells are pretty low level and he starts with those as well.

Wait for the Enhanced edition. It is going to improve the game greatly, and it is a free update. Not sure when it is out thought.

I'll play it again when it comes out.

This sounds like a plan. I think I could enjoy the game but after 20hours of any playthrough I just get a little bored. One thing that would help would be out of combat healing. Having to heal everyone after every battle was annoying as hell and slows the game down so much.

this, anyone got any idea ? im looking into getting this just want to wait while this enhanced is out or its on sale. is it worth the 29.99 ?

Well worth £29.99, but I'm not sure anyone actually pays that much. I didn't pay that and I got it 2 days after release. Try cjkeys or something.

Use the beds in game to return your character to health. I only noticed that about 4 hours in. Saved me a few times west of cyseal

Shame they feel the need to use Kickstarter again after the success of the first. Cheap move.

I agree, do they really need the extra start up funds or are they being greedy?

Glad to read that Divinity Original Sin 2 is in the pipeline!

I am quite glad as well. I am working my way through my first playthrough and at Level 8 now. I restarted once about 6 hours in and respecced my party. I am glad I have as I feel like I've greatly improved. When i decided to playthrough again I think I will definitely have a much better understanding of the ingame mechanics. I hope the sequel will not hold your hands and stay true to this one.

Been reading up on DOS 2, and my God it looks Incredible!.. The rpg elements in particular look much improved and very interesting.

Hopefully another game, along with a few other kickstarter games(Pillars of Eternity, Torment, the shadowrun games) to help revitalise a dying genre.

I found Original Sin enjoyable, but with far too tedious combat in places. Hopefully the Enhanced edition will improve it and then 2 will take it from there!

Just started this.... its errrr rather epic

No idea about crafting though, not even bothered to make anything.

Ok, so release day for the Enhanced Edition. I am looking forward to this. :)

I wonder if we will need to uninstall the normal version?

I believe it'll show as a separate game in your Steam library. Your old saves won't work in it though, apparently.
