Doctor Who

They have been poor stories.
Trying to build big backstories for bad guys who will simply be used once, rather than just develop interactions and dialogue based upon who they have and where they are.
We know there is something to the Clara backstory, that no doubt will turn out to be an odd fudge, but the link and that thin little thread isn't enough to base a story upon.
They must do better.

I've loved every mat smith Dr who episode so far but this season is even making me admit its getting rather crappy now.

:(

I must admit I was one of the "omfg, does he do his homework after they've finished filming?" crowd, but he developed into the role very very quickly.
He has maintained his standard but the scripts have taken a big dive this season.

some one needs to write a writers bible for the writers, last week with the tardis right beside them they couldn't understand a alien barking, yet this week with the tardis at the south pole while they at the north, they could understand and speak perfect russian

As I've said before, the whole show is an endless series of retcons and fudges. It's one of the reasons he talks technical mumbo jumbo the whole time - to gloss over all the randomness of what happens. So a Bible or almanac or whatever would be impossible. It's already far too late for that.

I'm not sure if this is of any interest to anyone (or been mentioned before), but it looks like Virgin have a number of Doctor Who stories on their on demand, including the "new" series, and several classic stories (some in HD).

This series is rubbish. Ive tried, I really have but all 3 have been pap imo. She is weird, not strong like Rose, Donna or Jones. Not needing saving like Amy. Not Awesome like Rory....just eye candy who sort of bobs along through each episode.

I don't know what to think about this show anymore. At one point I eagerly awaited each new episode. Now I just watch for the sake of it. I shall have to watch some older episodes to remind myself how good Doctor Who used to be. At this rate of decline, I'm not going to care if the show gets axed again.

Run of the mill would describe it best.

These one part stories are killing it tho, having to wrap stuff up every week, its very hard to build a good story and the lack of season arc isn’t helping either, even last year the so so episodes were worth watching just for the on-going stories knowing they were building up to something.

There is a season arc but it's hidden so well that nobody can see it! When (the amazingly cute) JLC was interviewed on the Nerdist podcast she made the point a few times that it'll all come together and be well worth it in the end.

I've been watching some old Classic Who recently, the current one I'm working through is City of Death and apart from the *ahem* slightly dodgy sets, it's far superior to the current storylines we have.

Worse than previous seasons so far, which is a shame as I like the Clara idea. Very disappointed and starting to lose my patience.

Funnily caught the episode where The Face of Bo is dying on some random channel yesterday, it's literally light years ahead in every way despite having corny lines (at times) and crappy sets. Tennant makes Smith look average with his range of emotions. The writing is just so much more meaningful.

The face of Bo is probably one of my favourite stories in sci-fi, so fantastically played out.
