Doctor Who

Ok my take on it solution is this:

The Doctor at the start of arriving on the ship pickpockets the remote control for the tractor beam thingy from the 'captain' and subsquently returns it through the crack in time which was created originally when the tractor beam thingy was employed which explains where it leads to when he goes through.

Originally this happened at the start of the episode but instead of the Doctor getting it, Clara did as we saw with her getting the burnt imprint of the writing that the Doctor had etched on to it. Also we saw to start the tractor beam you just press the top of it (as the 'captain' did) so to stop it you do the same I guess.

It was labelled the big friendly button because of the conversation Clara and the Doctor had when they first experienced the tractor beam thingy (its a technical term)
Kinda amazed a DW episode has a vaguely logical ending - for once someone wasnt too busy just spending their writers pay check

it wasnt the tractor beam that damaged the tardess ? it was some king of emp pulse thing that happened before the tardis got tractor beamed in ?

All part of the same device as far as I care to understand it, it wasnt described as anything but some kind of beam and not as 2 seperate devices. At end of day I guess all that matters is that the Doctor gets the remote control to switch it off before the Tardis is moved into the ship...

So what was all the gubbins about his name, her seeing his name in the book of the timewar?
That seemed to be the only plot arc point that has been touched upon, that and he still doesn't know why she is recreated throughout time.

Well he said if they reset the timeline then she'd forget. But I just wonder if her "anchor" to time will mean she still remembers, like she's a living "fixed point".

That or shes just too damn hot and it would be a travesty against males thoughout the entirety of time not to see her in every time period! :p

Good episode, the reset at the end was a bit disappointing (nice to see the crack in time again tho) but overall a good fun episode.

a bit 'meh'.

lots of confusing bits, stuff that wasn't properly explained etc, some good things but needs better writers - i know its a kids show but i wish they would try and make it more.
