Doctor Who

Well wasn't that just the worst season of "New Who" :(
Absolutely dire, in a CBBC friendly touchy feely love saves the day neon lit pile of ****

..... with a rather cracking ending :)

Thoroughly enjoyed that, but that just made season 7 seem even worse than it actually was, knowing how good it could have been.

Ho hum.... time to get my hopes up for the special and Season 8

Completely this, it was like going out for a crap meal meal and having a really good desert served up.

Hate to say it as it's a British / BBC staple, but I do wonder how different (and better) Doctor Who would be in the hands of HBO now. It'll never happen but I just wonder.

Have you ever seen the Dr Who movie from 1996? its very Hollywood :P

theoretically every Doctor ever would be there. But then the BBC would be a bit stuck. They can't exactly cast two people to make up 13 incarnations when it could be a few years before Matt Smith hands over to #12. :p

Actually they could, in the 20th anniversary special "the five doctors" the first doctor had to be portrayed by a new actor as his original one had passed away since the 10th anniversary special "the three doctors", so its not like the isn't precedent for changing the actor but not the doctor, they could quite easily have 12/13 played by one off actors with new ones used when needed, suspension of disbelief is something Dr Who fans excel at.

Apart from having no idea what happened in the end and briefly thinking Gandalf had turnt up.. It was the best episode yet.

In my opinion its clear now Steven Moffat wrote this episode first, and the rest have just been a bunch of ass wasting time trying to think how to get to it.

However, Cant wait to see Tennant back again!

Doctor Hurt is blatantly Doctor 8.5. He's wearing a mish mash of 8th Doctor and 9th Doctor clothing (frilly period shirt/waistcoat with a big leather jacket). He's the regeneration he doesn't want anyone to know about, the 'black sheep' of the Doctors timeline, the Doctors 'secret'.

Probably the 'Doctor' that started the Time War.

Indeed it's down to his dress style that I have Similar Theory, He is the 9th doctor the one who fought in and then ended the Time war. He is what we know as The Moment!

My theory too!! :D

And I'm getting a little following here at work, of people who agree with me!! :)

Wasn't there a rumor of a TV show about the 'Time War'??

A Dr Who off-shoot, based after the Canadian TV Movie with McGann and Before Eccleston.

I think I saw it in a copy of SciFi Magazine (or summut) supposed to be Staring The McGann Dr, but It'd be very nice if they made it and it was John Hurt as the Dr :) :)

I wonder if we're going to get a female doctor or a black or asian doctor. If the regeneration is to happen in the Christmas special, they haven't got long to cast someone.

Will we have heard of the next doctor or, like Matt, will they be a relative unknown? :p

They're gonna need a ruddy good actor, or JLC to get her wongas out.

Matt Smith has been the only positive among all the guff they've been writing lately.

We need an older Doctor.
They have been getting younger and younger and there "will they or wont they" sub-text has been a distraction.
We need someone older so there is a much more "pure" relationship with the companion.
*Please say John Hurt is gonna get it*
