Doctor Who

I'm surprised he got chosen as the Doctor, then again I'm not into Dr Who at all so wouldn't have known any of the 'gossip'!

I used to like Dr Who, but all of a sudden it became like a 3 year old's program; I don't know if that was me growing up or not... But when I see some of the monsters in the episodes now they're just pathetic and I can't help but laugh, I never remembered them looking so stupid and plastic back in the early part of the century?? Also I hated Matt Smith, he made it even more like a childrens show for me

yea I've said it before it's got more and more targeted at kids rather than being a program the kids can watch with you.

ecclestones drwho scripts seemed far far darker than any of the other dr's after him

He was my favourite doctor, like you say his scripts were quite dark and that made them really good imo, didn't mind Tennant but still watched because it was still pretty realistic compared to what it became after him!

Moffat said that it was only Peter Capaldi who "auditioned" for The Doctor and he did so at Moffat's house. I suspect he'd already made his mind up that Capaldi was going to be the next Doctor and as soon as he was available to do so, decided it was time to have a change.

doesn't mean he didn't approach someone else first

I did wonder why Smith was avoiding looking into the camera for most of his message to Capaldi. I did wonder if he had had enough of it and just didn't really give a **** anymore. It didn't make much sense to me that he appeared to be cheesed off, as I thought he was leaving because he wanted to do other things. It all makes sense now, having read what THMRK posted, and thinking about what Moffat said about having thought about Capaldi before, but it just wasn't the right time.

In short; 'I wanted Capaldi before, but he was busy with another TV show. Now that he is available, sorry Matt, you're out of a job'.
