Doctor Who

I enjoyed it.
I am going to forgive them for lifting an impossibly heavy object (tardis) with a helicopter in the opening scene, but it almost ruined my enjoyment of the show.
So they managed to forgo the time lock, Gallifrey is frozen.
Nice working in of the next doctor's face (eyes) in a single scene.
Sets up the 'death' of the doctor nicely, but I'll have to review the history of what know of that T planet before the Christmas episode.
I reiterate from much earlier in this thread that Jenna Louise Coleman would be amazing in porn, those eyes have it, lets gets some more Confessions of a callgirl (Billie Piper) and add JLC alongside Belle.

Unfortunately she's not as good as she looks in Dr Who... Have a look for "Room At The Top", was on BBC4 a while ago.:( :p

Awesome episode (Dr Who) though. Especially the bit where the latest doctor discusses what he did for the last 400 years, shows how dark he is inside with his happy veneer just trying to cover it all up.

What a load of rubbish.

So what made the dr, no longer happened.
What happened to the final solution or what ever it was called. Time lords were meant to of fallen and become evil, but they were all nice in that episode. So many plot holes.
Childish humour and no substance.

Did you ignore the end?

Hurt and tennents doctors would have no memory of the events thus thinking they blew up the planet. Thus staying who they were.

The Time Lords become evil inside the time bubble imo.

Just watched it and I am thoughly impressed!

I'm certainly one for criticising Stephen Moffat recently.. But I honestly can not fault that episode.

I've watched drwho since eccleston and my favourite is Tennant.. So was great to see him back, and being every bit the Doctor he ever was, just an outstanding performance; which could be said for everyone!

Two Best scenes for me; firstly when they are all in the cellar with the typical Moffat story of bringing time travel back in on itself and making it into a brilliant story over 400 years just to bring in Coleman with an excellent bit of comedy.
Secondly, was the last scene with Matt Smith and who I only know as a classic Dr.. I couldn't tell you what dr he was or even what his name is without googling but his acting in that scene was top class and instantly gained my respect. Really enjoyed seeing him as I didn't expect it and I want to see more of him then I do Peter Capaldi!

I'm abit disappointed about Rose Tyler (Piper). I'd hoped to see more of her and certainly some sort of interaction with Tennant was on the top of my list but didn't get. She was the only part of the story for me that didn't make sense (and leading to my usual Moffat criticism).

But apart from that, I can't fault it and I will certainly watch it again tomorrow!

That classic doctor was Tom Baker. He was the Doctor through my childhood so embodies Dr Who for me. I was very pleased to see him.

I enjoyed it but it's a little sad that it just rewrites history at the stroke of a pen again. Also I think they missed a good way to introduce the new doctor... With history rewritten the War Doctor could have regenerated info Capaldi and replaced the timeline of Ecclestone, Tennant and Smith.

I thought it was Baker but didn't want to embarrass myself by guessing or googling for that matter.. Long before my time.

I completely agree, I saw it a couple times earlier on and in the middle slight hints that the story might go that way. I.e, they all decide not to press the big red button and in doing so, Tennant and Smith never exist, thus creating the paradox and brand new time line of Calpaldi.

Back to Tom Baker, the more I think about it, his acting at the end really was superb!. I don't know wether that's what he was always like, but I certainly saw traits of eccleston, tennant and smith in what he was doing. Hats off to him and I'm sure it was amazing for him to be In that light again.

Definitely the best DW film/episode I've ever watched. Absolutely blown away by the acting. So impressed.

Tom Baker wasn't always like that, he was superb. Seriously had a tear in my eye from 'my' doctor.

Adventures in time and space was the best bit from the anniversary. Paul McCann needs a proper TV series too... I think he's become my fav!

Really liked the main plot, that tied everything up quite nicely for me. No more depressing time war clap trap just good ol adventures looking for galifrey.

The Time Lords become evil inside the time bubble imo.

Rassilon is the main timelord baddie during the time war, not the race.

That's not what David Tennant said in the end of time. He said the war changed them and they became as bad as the Darleks? Or along those lines. They were all willing to activate the "final sanction" afterall.

Really enjoyed it, the missus had a good time watching the episode even though she does not understand what is going on!

O so many questions were asked....!

i'm not a dr who fan but i do remember watching an episode in the late 80's and one scene sticks in my mind. from memory, he was on an alien spaceship and one of the aliens was carrying him and was going to throw him out of the ship and dr who was trying to convince him not to whilst he was being carried.

anyone know what the episode was called?

the one line that stands out for me is when the Dr is about to do what he does and
all the Dr are flying in to do it, the general says it worst nightmare all 12 Doctors and his aid said in a suprised/confused voice "No 13"

i thought it was a bit meh, although the ending was good.

they should have concentrated on the time war - we still know pretty much nothing about it or what hurt was doing all that time.
where was rassilon, all the other tardis's and time lords, any advanced time lord tech?? they were sitting on their arses doing nothing.

i sort of enjoyed it but like pretty much all of dr who these days it was a missed opportunity.
