Doctor Who

Not really seeing the problem, put aside how you see him as a gameshow host for a second and think of his Law and Order UK run.

But then I'd bet you were one of the people citing that Doctor Who is dead when they said Catherine Tate was cast a companion weren't you?

Nope, didnt mind Tate. Never seen him in Law and Order (I dont watch it) so I've only got his gameshow existence as a barometer.

Lets face it, its not like they were going to give the new Doctor an intelligent handsome Strong younger Man assistant that might actually be useful in situations...

If he just plays a bumbling fool of an assistant instead of a strong willed reliable useful assistant (like all the female assistants have been up to now, even Donner!) then that really will stop me from watching!

Even Moffet (sp?) has come out now saying the Doctors name is actually "Doctor Who"... Bloody Stupid!

He/she/it always introduces himself/herself/Its self as "The Doctor" and its sounds cool!!!

Oh **** right off. "The Doctor" isn't the characters real name, its basically a self given title to reflect his personality. The closest we ever came to him being called Doctor Who was the non cannon Doctor Who and the Dalek movies. And in that he wasn't even a Time Lord, he was a human scientist with a time machine.

Wrong. "Doctor Who is required." was uttered by an all-knowing computer with alien intelligence built by Professor Krimpton in the 1966 first doctor story called The War Machines. It references him by name, which is what Moffet was alluding to when he says it was established in an early 1960s story, unless there is an even earlier one I am missing (which I doubt).

I always took this as the computer knowing the Doctor's name and that his name was indeed "Doctor Who," but until Moffet came out saying it was his name I just took it as part of my personally chosen canon, now it appears to be canon.
