no one is rewriting history. If it was a historical drama or accurate account of Sir Issacs life then yes I'm sure it would be a white guy playing the role.

But it's not it's a joke segment of a science fiction show.
Doesn't matter, they race swapped a historical figure on purpose..

Would never happen the other way around would it?
Does it matter for the show? no of course not but the BBC just couldn't resist changing historical facts because it's too white.

I still think the casting was RTDs choice and not the BBC or Disney. He he used him before in his hit show so picked him as he is a good actor. Not for his half Indian heritage. Also because he was, in the Doctors words 'hot'.

oh well. In the brief moments tennent and tate are allowed to act , they are fantastic. But terrible overall. More he/her/they pro-noun nonsence, cant forget to remind people that the doctor is now Bi, historical appropriation. So, more boxes ticked and a stupid story. If the captain was willing to suicide after setting up the worlds stupidest trap, why not just blow the ship up 3 years previous and be done with it. Nice to see Cribbins though :)

The idea was to send the ship as far away from any populated space so the entities couldn't invade or kill anyone. So sending the ship to the far edge of the universe then blowing it up.

Nobody ever cared about Captain Jack shagging anything and everything.
Given all the reports of John Barrowmans tendency to get his tackle out on set all the time, It might be that Captain Jack was a sweet innocent guy and the bawdy bang anything part of him was Barrowman :D

How many times though has the doctor regenerated and change personality and mannerisms. Its not out of the ordinary logically that at somepoint he may become bisexuality or otherwise.

Diverse characters are fine its just with the BBC they are always defined by their minority status as preachy caricatures endlessly spewing out woke cliches.. how many episodes into the new series before the Doctor goes to the planet of the drag queens etc etc..

Whilst this may seem like A grade virtue signalling to BBC execs isn't it just a little patronising to the groups depicted...

Funny as there is actually an episode with a drag queen as the baddie. They were announced a while back.
