Doctor Who

Yep. They're taking a break.

Thats what I understood, no series in 2009 apart from the 3 specials.

Looks like I'll be investing in some of the classic Dr Who DVDs next year! (Except for the one with the giant bassets liquorice allsort monster! that was a silly episode)

yeah, just read on the ol' wiki, roll on 2010 :)

i love all the old ones, as i mentioned above, Tom Baker is my favourite 'old' doctor, things like the invasion of time was fairly well done, mid you, some of the older ones (the genesis of the daleks for example) look very dire :p, still they're a good watch if you use a bit of imagination.

i hope Steven Moffat is a better writer then Russell T Davies, some of this last series has been bloody aweful, and i don't think it's down to any of the actors (no, not even Catherine Tate :p)

What's the betting we will get a previous Dr for the final episode and them having to regenerate back to DT.

I was just thinking that as well, but if it is somthing like that then they have done a good job of keeping it quiet.

that would give him only one more life (possibly none as some of the old doctor who eps hinted at him having live/s previous to the scope the series' covers).

perhaps it could be something to do with the place being one second out of sync with the rest of the universe?

Well logically the Tennant iteration of the doctor can't be dead because of the whole River Song timeline not yet happening, so if this version of the doctors dead then events in the past (silence in the library/forest of the dead) would change, making the current timeline void.

But then again when did logic really matter in Who?

I thought we came to the conclusion that River Sung had never met the DT before.

Given the old Dr's on the BBC3 program it would be Davison or MaCoy, however, I will forgive all of the dodgy episodes over the last four series if it was TB :D

Brilliant episode that was and cannot wait to see next weeks episode.

I always used to watch doctor who when i was a lot younger and of course the daleks always stood out with the cybermen aswell for me i have to say.

And davros..ugly as *&^% but what a legend!!!..lolo.

There is also the get out when it comes to the regenerations of the previous stories where it's been mentioned that whilst 13 regens is the norm there can be less, or more ;)

I suspect your "out of sync" thing could be about what will happen, due to the area being out of sync with time, but the tardis internally having it's own time/space something funny happening with the regeneration:)

hehe, well, lets not get to complicated ;), out of sync is my bet (as you could probably guess) nothing to stop him regenerating and then as soon as the episode is over him turning back (once they leave that particular area of space)

ooh
The final scenes, revealed in released pictures awhile ago, suggest that the Doctor is either involved in a freak explosion which splits him into two Doctors or it could be just the crossing of alternate realities.

edit:

AND
2010 Series
13 episodes with David Tennant! David will continue playing the Doctor for most of the 2010 season to a) beat Jon Pertwee's record, b) because he loves it and c) what's the point in reducing season 5 if he's planning to leave? Robert Carlyle/James Nesbitt or someone else close to Moffat may appear as the 11th Doctor at the end of the seaon. NB: In February 2008 the BBC confirmed Season 5 for 2010

I loved that episode, nice they bought everybody together. One thing you lot haven't mentioned as a way of getting round the Doctor regenerating is when the Doctor and Donna were with the Shadow Proclamation people, one of them said that Donner had something on her back!! Hence this means or indicates things have been changed and thus they are in another dimension or something, as the thing on her back could be that big black bug thing. Just a thought as it seems weird to mention that Donner has something on her back??

well spotted, i thought that during the episode, but had forgotten by the end :), nice one!

Oh, and I'm sure there was a rather clear shot of the hand in the jar early in that episode...coincidence? No idea what could happen next week but I actually really hope that tennant stays; he's great.
