Doctor Who

Technically she shouldnt of been able to actually even take the clothes off, as they werent real. It was just a perception filter so there were no physical clothes to remove in the first place. Why, or even how, someone not wearing clothes would remove them is somewhat of a mystery. I guess it was done for "dramatic effect".
As a perception filter doesn't actually exist, we can't really say how it works.

It was certainly for dramatic effect, but I don't see any reason why something that allows someone to perceive that someone is human wearing clothes shouldn't just a likely be able to allow somone to perceive that clothes are being removed.

We saw the effect of the perception filter when disabled, the creature wore no clothes. So its not a matter of perceiving that clothes are being removed, its a matter that a creature not wearing any clothes cannot stop, stand still and then carefully remove clothes. You cant take off something that doesnt exist :)

i thought that odd also but as i thought about it, she could have been doing something to her body (like cutting her self to make herself bleed to help with the feeding ) and the perception filter only made it look like she was taking off her clothes

I guess thats the beauty of sci-fi, we can explain absolutely anything with some excuse or another :D

Like last nights part where they set up so much around the church in around 3 minutes, we can explain that by saying it was because the Tardis was nearby and was emitting a time displacement aura which slowed the passage of time without slowing the physical movement of objects within that aura, thus allowing them to set up in the short space of time. :D

She was human the hole time, so it never stopped working. If you can perceive clothes that don't exist, perceive them moving as she walks, there's surely no reaon you can't perceive them being removed. The fact they don't exist isn't relevant - I imagine when the device stopped working, the clothes around her would 'disappear'.

Surely not, as the clothes are not real. Yet when she removed them and threw them on the floor they remained on the floor. At that point they are not in contact with her so how can there physically be an item of clothing on the floor when there is no physical piece of clothing to discard and drop onto the floor. I am guessing that the reason why the clothing appears to be on her is that the perception filter effects her physical body to make it appear like something else, the fact that she has to wear the perception filter would suggest that it is required to be in contact with the wearer in order to work, so a "holographic" piece of clothing, when no longer in contact with the perception filter wearer, you would think should disappear. Much as holograms on star treks holodeck disappear when leaving the holodeck (although having said that there was also the episode of star trek where a snowball was thrown off the holodeck and hit someone, which it shouldnt have done as it should have ceased to exist when it left the holodeck of course :) )

Then again, as I say, sci-fi has the advantage that everything can be explained.

Maybe it was that not only did she have a perception filter, but she also had biomorphic abilities and could generate physical items from hairs on her carapace which she then discarded. :)

I thought the perception filter projected things into the mind of the viewer, rather than just projecting an image around the wearer.

different's between a holograms and a perception filter is a holograms just works on the subject it surrounding while the perception filter works on the brain of the person seeing the subject.
so say a alien is walking along ripping out it fingers (or what passes as fingers) and and throwing them on the ground. if it was a hologram you would be right as the pass away from the holoimage you would see them as they are. but because the perception filter works on your brain you see the fingers on the ground as what ever your brain thought they were ie gloves

I assumed it wouldnt be working on the minds, as everyones minds are different (especially that of a time lords) , so it would be much easier to create a device (I imagine) which effectively projects an image rather than one which may or may not work on the millions of minds which will view the wearer.

Like I say, its the sci-fi advantage, everything can have an excuse or reason in sci-fi. Doesnt need to be explained or logical :D

well it was 8 mins from when hey first started to set up the cameras, they setup something like 10 of them (was the highest number camera on the screens) so 4 adults ducktaping 10 cameras in 8 minutes i would say was do-able with the DR connecting them all together with his sonic screwdriver

How do you know which range of the visible spectrum the viewer is using? Or if they're using the visible spectrum at all?

Ah thats easy, the perception filter has a visioflux module built into it which analyses all wavelengths currently being used within a 200km range and adjusts the image accordingly on a per viewer basis. Easy to explain with sci-fi :D

But it was specifically explained as affecting the mind. But the mind couldn't block out the dangerours/threatening part, hence the vampire teeth.

Ah, that would explain it, although I would personally find a 6 foot insect considerably more dangerous/threatening than a row of spiky teeth, so my mind would actually see the insectoid :D

I can't believe they killed off Rory.

Again.

It was a half decent episode as well if a bit meandering in the middle but the double shocks at the end left me looking like !
