9 points behind 4th spot, effectively 10 since Liverpool have a vastly superior goal difference, I dont think Utd have much hope of CL next year unless they win it this year (does that still automatically enter you?)

I simply don't understand Moyes' obsession with crossing. I get crossing, if you have players who can cross, and good players in the box who can head the ball, likely beating the defenders (you can flash it across the goal too which would be better, but most were in the air). RvP has good movement but isn't going to get above a 6'4 centre back with ease. Even if your game is built around crossing, you have to try other things too.

Our players are barely shooting or trying any creative passes, it's all wide > cross > wide > cross, all down the same side of the pitch too.

Moyes has to take the blame for this at least. If we're keeping him and have to play this way, why the hell did he buy Mata?! Fellaini as a striker makes more sense.

Depressing. His post match interview likely praising our incredible amount of crosses isn't going to help either.

Dont think that automatically counts any more - but thats irrelevant anyway as even winning one of the next CL games looks unlikley)

Not sure if its the players, the tactics or a combination of events but the pressure is only increasing thats for sure

edit - to be fair Liverpool absolutely thrashing Arsenal & Norwich drawing against City where much bigger surprises than anything that happened at OT today. These things happen in football (especially when confidence is so low)

I'm absolutely torn. Don't know what to think of it anymore.

I want to support Moyes but every time we play I feel less and less sure he's the right person to take the club forward.

If he isn't gone by tomorrow, either through him resigning or being sacked, then our board is a bigger joke than I thought.

Enough is enough, transition period or not, the job is clearly way too big for him

I don't think you realise how stubborn we are as a club and how much we will put up with before sacking him. We gave him something like a 7 year contract. The only sensible reason I can think of for keeping him is that we have a clause that allows us to sack him for pennies if we do badly enough in the league.

But keeping him to save face is ridiculous, a board that is so focused on commercial success should surely see that our performances and league position are doing no favours for that.

This is why David Moyes needs to just man up and accept he's not the right man for the job

Al from Streatham: To those calling for Moyes's head - Liverpool fans were saying the same last season, now look at them. Managers need time. If someone could walk into a team and win everything,

I can't say I noticed that about Rodgers, but Moyes has done only one thing tactically all season and it has never worked (unless the opposition fell apart for whatever reason).

We're in a terrible position and he won't even dare try something different. If the stakes ever get higher, he definitely won't try something different.

We can't blame the midfield, we didn't even need one today for the vast majority of the game, we made no effort to play through the middle or do anything other than cross.

It's bad. Really bad.

The only people calling for Rodgers head were the nutjob Dalglish supporters who would still have him in charge of Liverpool if they had their way. Thankfully most people came to realise football's moved on and Rodgers was the type of forward thinking manager we had been crying out for since Benitez was sacked.

Yes we did (need a midfield ) but a more naturally attacking / goal scoring one which we havent had for far too long (and yes Scholes was still a good AM but in his last few seasons he didnt really score that much)

Maybe not the more well known ones, but just like a lot of "new" Utd fans this season who have suddenly become vocal, there were a lot of Liverpool "supporters" on here who wanted Rodgers out last season

I know plenty who wanted to keep Kenny but were more than happy with Brendan and didn't want him out

Before you start (somebody already has), keep chat about the game in the spoilers thread.

It does and don't say something as terrifying as that.

Game related, but those changing their vote today.....75% possession and 31 shots to 5...tey were "unlucky" to be fair.

Overall, I think Its that extra 1% of never giving up / lapsing concentration that's happening right now. No other top 4-potential side (apart from Spurs / Arsenal yesterday perhaps) would allow that.
