Done something stupid on eBay

The way I would look at it is that, if the rebuild costs £2.5k, you've got yourself a freshly rebuilt RX8 for £4550. .
I bet it will also need

engine mounts replaced (cost about £250 for the two)
new coils (About £250 for 4 )
Maybe a new coolant water bottle (£150)
And maybe a new starter motor (About £350) if it haven't had the upgraded one fitted

;)

And also does it need any new tyres at about £140 per corner :p
Also need check brake discs & pads for wear

A £2000 RX8 can turn into about a £6000 one very very quickly

If you bid on it you should have the decency to pay for and collect the item. Nothing worse than a time waster when selling a car.

I had a guy look at my Mondeo, he couldn't fault it, was gob-smacked by the condition. Then said he isn't interested due to mileage. Mileage is listed very clearly on my AT advert. He didn't attempt to haggle, just said not interested.

Nothing really, just minor fettling and a few upgrades (might post a thread when I get it back). If the gearbox goes, it's £8k. An engine rebuild, I dread to think.

So yea... RX8s aren't that expensive to run...

I shall be summoning you into the next ridiculous 'I have 11k of borrowed money and 20 quid in the bank spec me an RS6 or M5' thread as an expert witness :p

Pff just tell him your passing due to his arrogant emails and good luck selling it on. No way on earth would I guilt trip myself into buying something because of the its an auction deal with it brigade.

Ebay is a great place to pick up bargains on cars. I mean there are some cars you have to hold back on as they would just be hassle if selling for cheap, RX8's for example, but otherwise your good to go.

I remember years ago when Drexel pulled the engine on his RX7 and rebuilt it. It's great opportunity to learn something and learn some skills.

I also agree with the well you bid on it, now bloody buy it!

Well the easiest solution to this for all involved would be if people didn't 'get bored' and bid on useless broken junk they don't even want in the first place.

Though it's absolutely beyond me how boredom leads to spending money on stuff you don't even want.

whats he going to do, bitch to ebay about you and you get a non-payment warning, big deal, lol at all the people on this thread with morals, its ebay ffs
