Doom - The Dark Ages (2025)

Absolutely love the first game, but my mate also did and then he hated the 2nd game so I never picked it up. is the 2nd game worth picking up, this 3rd one looks fantastic

Similar here - liked 2016, loved some aspects but kind of missed the gameplay of older Dooms, hate Doom Eternal, on the fence on this one.

Not going to pre-order, not going to pre-order, not going to pre-……bugger, going to pre-order. Loved 2016, enjoyed Eternal, even if I was rubbish at it, and this version looks so good, combat looks a lot of fun.

I will buy this one day. But certainly not on release. Probably after a year. Never did complete Eternal.
You didn't get stuck on one of those jump to the wall bits by any chance? I'm sure I got right near the end of the game, got so p***** off with it, I gave up.

Wonder how it is going to play on 6 core / 12 thread and/or 6 core CCD CPUs like the 7900X3D with the listed 8 core / 16 thread "requirement".

GPU requirements are not a shock, same engine as Indiana Jones, so no suprises there. CPU requirements are a bit weird, 3700x makes the cut, but a 5600x doesn't because it's 6 core, even though it is still quicker than a 3700x.

I liked Doom 2016 and Eternal which both played different from each other, but I'm not sold on what I've seen for this one.

I have to wait anyway (need to upgrade gpu and cpu if 6 core is no go) and not paying £70 anyway, so hopefully impressions are good once it's out.

I wonder how important the 8 core / 16 thread minimum requirement is.

Are they suggesting something like the 9600x isn't going to meet the minimum requirements?
