Door locks - replacement advice needed

Mine arrived this morning and the size is a lot better than the standard ones. The ABS locks protrude by a few mm but the standard ones protruded around 8mm.
mine have just been ordered, should sit flush to the door handles

Even with no lock showing it's very easy to get into a euro cylinder, only slightly more annoying if it's an anti-snap cylinder but would only slow a potential burglar who knew what he was doing by 10 seconds.
I fitted some of the above hoppe handles a few weeks back and I was very impressed and would recommend them, they can really take some abuse and would put of any would be thief.

Cheap hollow alloy handles are easy to defeat with a screwdriver or pry bar, once removed, it's easy to access cylinder, at least with Hoppe PAS 24, Mila Evolution & Avocet's Affinity solid handles your average low life isn't going to hang around long enough to try removing them to gain access to the cylinder.

Yeah, there was a previous set on the door that was to be replaced so I had a little play with a crow bar and hammer and suffice to say I honestly got know where. Ive got further if I would have damaged the door but I was saving that.
I can still get into a cylinder that is flush to the unit, without touching the handle or using a prybar/screwdriver or hammer. I've got a great trick bit of kit that is so simple but brilliant. If I ever get a lock out and here the word cylinder im laughing.

Just to further recommend the Avocet ABS cylinders, we test security products at work and these are the best easily
Don't even bother with any of the other designs (flexible rubber strip running through the lock etc) as they aren't too much betters than standard. Even ones similar to the ABS with a sacrificial segment are easily defeated (35 secs is my personal record) using non-specialist tools.
The Hoppe PAS24 handles are very good too, best to get the cylinder 5mm shorter on the external side if you get them as they have a slider covering the cylinder face.

I made the same mistake as the guy a few posts above, measured my old cylinders both offering too much to the burglar, so had to send them back and get 5mm shorter
If someone really wants to get in your house the will, the locks will put them off the door, so they'll grab a brick and do a quick smash and grab. Im so paranoid of been burgled, have 4x cctv, 4x pir security lights, my doors are half glass half pvc, so had the old glass swapped for laminate and obviously the abs locks.. im not a burglar but id know exactly how to get in my house, so a burglar must do too

The laminate glass will help a lot. Toughened can be broken in seconds and is virtually silent, but laminated will need to be smashed in and will make a lot of noise.

I've just realised this, we have similar locks like these at work. Same kind of key and the one key opens various external, internal, cupboard doors, and even padlocks.
They don't have ABS on the locks or keys so are there other companies around making the same lock?

There will be. The slam locks on our work van have a similar looking key as well.

Today I got my ABS key out of my pocket and a 10p coin was stuck to it - Just tried all the other ABS lock keys and they all seem to be magnetic - Anyone else noticed this and if so why are they magnetic. ?

I think they have little magnets in them to push the pins in the lock barrel into place.
1 of the 7 pins operates on a magnet to make it harder to pick
my abs keys stick to other keys in my pocket doesn't really bother me but I guess a lot of people would get annoyed

Seems like 70mm is the smallest you can buy. My patio doors have a 70mm Yale euro cylinder but it sticks out 2-3mm each side.

ABS cylinders are available in 5mm increments per side from 30 to 60mm.
