The problem with humour is if you need to explain it t to someone then it isn't funny anymore.

I dunno, take come fly with me and Ian Foot (the white middle-aged racist immigration officer). If I was to explain the sketch to you it does not sound humourous at all. It just sounds offensive. (Which some think it is but that is not my point).... I won't lie I found it funny, but if I have to spell it out as to why it was funny then it isn't funny any more it's just purile
 
If you don't find him funny, that's fine. You don't have to.
Plenty of people obviously do, or he wouldn't have made millions off the strength of his persona.

Nobody needs to justify why they like him or any other popular streamer just because you don't get it.
 
What I was more after is the bit you found funny. Like quote the line but I take your point.

True and I'm not saying he's not funny, just that video wasn't a good example when it's sole purpose was to show him as a funny guy, especially without the context which seems to have been since posted.

Well no actually. Popular streamer doesn't equal funny streamer. You may enjoy a steamer for their skill, play style.

Yes very true. Nobody has to justify and nobody has asked anyone to justify. You do however have to further explain something if you have provided something as evidence and some don't get it and you want them to. Surely that's why the video was posted, to show us an example of something. If I post a picture of a landscape that I say shows a tiny house in the far distance, and then someone says can I show the specific part with the house as I can't see it, people don't need to jump in an be like "he doesn't have to justify where the house is", "so you're saying a house doesn't exist because you don't see it" blah blah blah

Honestly, that video was far from the best example tbh. I'm not surprised that someone unfamiliar with him would think "Eh? Is that it?".
I'd hook you up with a better vid, but I haven't watched him for ages and even then it was here and there, but I liked his act.

Yeah, I'm clearly his biggest fan.
I've probably watched less than an hour of him in total. Maybe a few compilation clips, but never actually sat and watched his stream.

In all honesty, I'd love nothing more than to gaze at my reflection in his shades while stroking the glorious Ethiopian caterpillar.

LOL, I came to that conclusion because every reply you've made points to it. You went on to prove my point for me in your latest reply. So no, what followed wasn't wrong, my assumption was right as you've demonstrated. I didn't see you explain why that video you posted was hilarious when I said I didn't find it funny at all. I don't expect an explanation either, I expect some people will find it funny and some people won't, that's it.

If you watched the whole video and didn't find any of it funny, then someone having to point out which parts they thought was funny isn't going to make a difference to you. What were you expecting to happen? Oh, I'll try and laugh at this part because [insert OCUK member] told me this specific line or lines are where the jokes are. :confused:

I'm not sure why you're struggling with this but I'm happy to try help explain.

Sticking with your food analogy, let's say everyone is talking about why is a certain restaurant so popular, someone recommends that restaurant to you as it has really great lamb dishes and hands you a menu. You view the menu and don't see a single interesting lamb dish so at this point given they pointed you directly to this menu, you can quite rightly expect them to expand further and explain specifically what lamb dishes on the menu are the ones they like. You'd not expect to now instantly find them interesting or worth trying, but at least you'd understand better, as the whole conversation has become about why this restaurant is so popular, and they pipped up with a recommendation to provide clarity, but their recommendation wasn't clear. Yes I would ask people to explain why in that situation and most normal people would have no reason to not continue explaining their recommendations.

Hopefully that better clears things up. Nothing wrong with Dr d. You're allowed to find him funny, you're allowed to post videos showing what you find funny, and you're allowed to be asked what in the video it is you find funny and you're allowed to further expand on that or not.

Not to rain on your lamb parade but your 1st post did say "honestly the most unfunny video i've ever seen." That's quite a statement no? Would you expect fellow lamb enthusiasts who are strangers to detail what they like in their menu after you say this is the worst menu /restaurant you've ever seen?
