Dragon Age: The Veilguard

I have a lot of time for Stephen Fry but don’t agree with this. The reality is it depends on what was said to be deemed offensive. Saying “I think gender is binary” is not offensive, “all trans should be shot” is offensive.
To you maybe, but I certainly don’t find the latter offensive, why would I?
It seems a lot of people are claiming “hate speech” when all it is is they’re either too daft to challenge what was said, or it doesn’t fit with their agenda and want stuff shut down or banned because they had their “feels” hurt.
Breeding a nation of cry babies won’t end well.
Look at some of the conversations Billboard Chris, or Matt Walsh have had to witness this.

I've not played the game properly, zero interest in it having seen others play it on Twitch and Youtube.

And I love the dragon age games, played them all, some more than others, but the decline for me started with DA:I.

Ten years making this crap, they sure know how to destroy a game even before launch with all the woke crap and removing all the real dark fantasy elements that RPGs have, yes HR was watching the game being made with their woke hands, very, very sad, they should keep ALL the woke crap out of gaming. No wonder there was hand picked game reviewers by them giving good reviews for this POS, that is until the independent reviewers came out with the truth.

The Qunari faces are a complete joke and look far better in DA Inquistion. Combat is not great. I still stand by the worst DA game ever made and probably one of the worst games that has been made.

Anybody remember the old days where you had great games on 3.5" floppy discs, now they have GBs to work with and decades to make with better hardware and bring out crap ie Veilguard , what has happened?

Pure deflection and cope. Jog on, Vincent.
Deflection? So you hold the series in high regard?

Have you tried the first Witcher ? Personally, I think it's better than the sequel ( graphics aside ).

A thumbs up here for Dragon Age : Origins too. But don't touch DA2 with a barge pole.

You may want to have a gander at the Gothic series and Drakensang. I think they fit your criteria.

You clearly don't play a lot of games if you even think DA:V is one of the worst that have been made lmao. Come on now

Games like Gollum and Redfall exist. Even MK1 on Switch was a joke. DA:V is nowhere near that level and I suspect you are either trolling or too caught up in your hate for "woke" to see sense or think rationally.

What has me ( or you ) holding a series in high regard have to do with it being considered as a major franchise ? These non-sequitur statements do nothing to reinforce your viewpoints, Victor. They just make you look facile-minded.

Because nowhere have I used the words "Not a major IP" or "Not a major franchise"

I probably played more games then you, I was also a beta games tester in the past.

LOL.. I'm 61 so you can imagine when I started playing games, I actually have seven bookcases full of boxed PC games, and that is not including digital downloads.

I have been playing games since Commodore 64 days, had Atari ST, Amiga A500, moved on to IBM PC 486DX2 66 then stayed with PC and a few consoles. I actually pre-ordered DA Veilguard and NEVER had a game with as much WOKE crap or real RPG elements removed, I already talked about how you can't map cursor arrow keys for movement like in previous DA games, I own and played a lot of games and it's my opinion never played a game with as much crap like Veilguard, obviously I don't own or have played every game listed, but I know which games I have played over the many decades. I was a beta games tester in the past for a few game companies.

I put my money where my mouth is since I purchased DA Veilguard so I'm more then entilted to give feedback about it.
I already mentioned about controls and dark evil elements removed that real RPGs have ,dumb down skills ie only 4 hotbars (technically only 3 plus one ultimate skill). Combat is boring, true you can swap out skills but a pain. Also the characters in the way they talk don't seem real, the first DA game is far superior, so even if you remove all the woke crap its still bad.

Btw those games you mentioned I have not played so can't comment on those (which I never do on games not played or owned ). Remember how much money and years they spent making this Veilguard crap.

Bottomline DA games have been getting worst with every new release (DA:Origins was great), even DA Inquisition with its faults I did not mine playing, Veilguard they hit a new low.

:) .

The industry had a big talent drain at the end of the 00s as it changed massively from the art form it was. I was working in it at the time when it was starting to get toxic.

Partly because of the wave of people entering it, who were largely left-wing and talentless compared to their predecessors, and partly because it was getting very corporate and rigid. You can see it in how games have gone backwards over the last decade in all but graphics.

Snip

Any chance of you uploading a picture of the PC boxes? I absolutely love the old big boxes and I often get tempted to collect them myself.

The fact that you have been gaming since then and still suggested DA:V is one of the worst game ever made is crazy.

Maybe just leave or edit as "worst games I've ever played" because even if you didn't play or (somehow) hear about them, Gollum and Redfall are worse games in every metric and made a lot of news, even into mainstream news sites.

Bad writing, a horrific level of bad writing, with the cotton wool wrap to stop anyone being truly bad. Could easily make someone call Dragon Age Veilguard one of the worst games ever. They should have just created a new franchise for this Reddit fanfic team to work on, and it would have been another Forspoken.

Some of my PC boxed titles, Ultima 8, Corridor 7, Dawn Patrol, Goal, First Samurai, Indy racing, Lotus, The Chaos Engine (was Amiga classic). Hexen, Slipstream 5000, Hexx, Cool Spot, Quarantine, Alladin, Elder Scrolls Daggerfall, Road Rash, all XCOM games all boxed, Quake, Mortal Combat, Alien Breed Tower Assault, System Shock 1 and 2 , Privateer 2, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Diablo 2, Wizards & Warriors. Warhammer online CE edition. Planescape Torment,Vanguard CE edition,Star Wars CE version The Old Republic, Ultimate Doom,Terminator, SW Rebel Assault, Might & Magic 6,7,8,9, 10.

I could list many more ( in the hundreds) but these were some of the old large PC boxed games before they went DVD size cases and now as you know games are mainly digital downloads.

I should really catalogue them all but can't be bothered with the time it will take lol...

I do have CE version of DA Inquisition very big box (overpriced in what you get), CE version and Ultimate edition of DA:Origins and DA2 Signature Edition also DA Awakenings all are DVD case size. My DA Veilguard was a digital download from Steam.

Somebody isn't being objective if they claim this is "one of the worst games ever"

Ever? In the history of all games? Give me a break. Try playing Superman 64 (N64), Dangerous Streets (Amiga), Dr. Jekyll & Mr Hyde (NES), Big Rigs: Over the road racing (PC) etc.
