Dustmen/women...earliest legal start time

Right lets get it straight....be as pedantic or sarcastic as you want...its easy behind your computer....

But the point im making is, yes it wasnt my idea of heaven at 5am...i do understand people have a job to do...my point is, is it acceptable that it should be 5am....anyone that thinks it is....pass over your numbers, i have a plan...im sure you will change your mind very very quickly.

All good, il ring them up...a post asking a question can be very lost with a host of you...

Our bin men are ace, though I have had to tell them to stop turning their bin lorry around on my drive as it wrecks the stones and creates big swathes of wheel tracks and now they reverse down into our property. But they have never once been militant in what they will and won't take, or if our bin is overfilled. We are lucky in that we live in a secluded location, gated type environment so they have a few to do when they are here, but I've dumped TV's, old printers, old white goods and bodies and they have all been taken away by the bin lads!

Also, they pitch up at 9:30am so all good.

Why can't they just start at 9am like normal people?
If you want the army of large dustcarts, white vans, heavy plant and HGVs on the roads on top of every other idiot who starts at 9am, then you go for it... I rather enjoy the lack of extra traffic, myself.

Having a "job to do" does not give you an excuse to behave unreasonably. I'd be pretty ticked off if I was woken at 5am too.
OK, next time you have an emergency at 2am, I'll tell my guys not to come save you until after 0930hrs, yeh? Wouldn't want our rescue truck spoiling your beauty sleep...

Yes but the fact you posted this query shows you are annoyed by them picking your **** up at 5am once a week (min), which is pathetic and on ********* proportions.

What is the deal with "tradesmen" (for want of a better term, including builders etc) insisting on starting work so early? Why do they always have to be clattering around at 7am etc? Is it literally so they can finish earlier? It does my head in, especially when they work Saturdays. Why can't they just start at 9am like normal people?

Yes everyone in the UK works 9-5 and we all have Sunday off as a day of rest you know (sarcasm)

I wonder if the OP would complain if the bin men started later, which meant that rush hour traffic was heavier, which meant he had to get up and leave the house earlier.

Why is it pathetic to think that 5am is unacceptable? Whats wrong with 7 or 8am?
Its people like yourself that grind my gears...its all good and well typing away that you think its acceptable....but whats that saying...walk a mile in someones shoes....

Sorry i dont experience rush hour traffic down side streets mate....i very much doubt 1 dustcart is going to create such heavy traffic in the place i live. Sorry to burst your bubble of sarcasm

As i said whats your number il be sure to wake you up at 5am...hell make me a cuppa mate...theres a good girl

I wish i got my normal bins taken away weekly, one week refuse, then next is recycling, you should hear the clatter when they get shot of my green bin full of beer bottles, my neighbours must think we have a right beer monster living next to us :D:D

sarcasm? was a serious question.

because all of the dustcarts on the roads later isnt going to create any more traffic at all is it. not just about the side roads.

and my bin men already come at 5am. however im not whining about it " :p "
