E3 2018

2020 seems a bit soon considering the X launched last year? I would be suprised if that was the case.

Sure does, I love owning the latest consoles but do prefer a longer gap between generations, having the Pro and X in between has made it feel very short this gen.

I still can't believe we didn't see anything regarding Final Fantasy 7, Was surprised to see the extra trailer for KH3 think i'll be moving to a PS4 Pro for that might as well get the special edition console when it comes up for pre order.

I was hoping for the xbox Keyboard and mouse support to be released finally, it's been over six months since they initially announced it was coming.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the new Xbox Christmas 2019 as they will want to get a good start this time.

Remember, the One X is a mid gen upgrade and they way the conference went in regards to it, it wasn't really highlighted or pushed.

2019-2020 is when we should see something released from Sony or Microsoft imo.

It's strange how Microsoft's Game Pass is now considered a good thing when it's what they tried to give us in the beginning. They totally screwed up the message in the way they tried to sell it.

First party titles being released on game pass from day one is a great idea.

I don't have a Pro or an X but I do have both originals. I am going to wait it out if it's 2019-20 for the next generation though I am tempted by a Pro for TLoU2. Nothing from MS has made me want to upgrade though it is a lovely looking bit of kit.

I have both Pro and X and sometimes wished I had bought the slim PS4 instead.
The price difference wasn't big so I went with the Pro but the picture looks soft compared to the X in a lot of the games I own on a 4K TV.

They were ahead of their time with that idea. I really like the idea of a game pass and games as a service (done right) in general these days.

I would be very surprised to see that, and they already had a year ahead with the 360 and xbox one.

Agreed games pass is great now you can get 6 months for £24 from amazon

And another good thing about Game Pass is that games downloaded don't need an internet connection to play them as I just booted up every game I have while unplugging the cable before turning the Xbox on.

I hope it stays that way. You may have to connect it though every 30 days or so.

Damn, that's crazy value if you get access to new games. I don't have an Xbox but props to MS for the idea. Does it work on PC as well?

It sure does but the library isn't as big. You still get the big 1st party titles but the 3rd party stuff is a lot more limited.

Wouldn't even bother with either, got both and don't think anything has warranted my upgrade.

I was about to pull the trigger on a One X and give my One to the kids, but with rumors of a new console coming potentially next year i think im going to hold off. I bought the Gamepass 6 months off Amazon, had 7 days left on my £1 trial too :) so its cost me i think £25 for 7 months games pass, with news that Exclusives like Forza Horizons 4 are going to be added to the pass its a no brainer, i almost bought State of Decay 2 the other day and thats on the pass too, and the kids love Sea of Thieves. Honestly that pass is wicked, the kids love the old school games on it.

Assuming you're talking about the next PlayStation? There's simply no need for Sony to shovel out a new console when the PS4 and PS4 Pro are still selling well.

I don't believe that we will see that until at least 2020 and I will bet a teaser is shown at E3 next year to build some hype but not much more than that - no specs or similar. I reckon E3 2020 release announcement with full hardware specs and a November 2020 release.

There were also a few games penned as 'next gen' which could imply that dev's definitely do have access to some Sony development kit and are working on titles already. I would anticipate Elder Scrolls 6 being one of these - most likely a release title.

They always start work on the next console the second they finalise the design for the latest one, so the next XBox would have started being designed well before the XBox One X even launched.

It has always been this way since consoles became common place.
