Ear wax anyone

I used to have 3 showers a day, idk why - I just loved having showers lol... then I started having terrible earwax problems - the doctor told me that using lots of shampoo shower gel all the time actually causes your body to generate more wax.. which is interesting.

I went to a private clinic off Oxford and had "micro-suction" done for £65, considering I was deaf in one ear and the NHS wait time was 12 weeks, I got in at the private place on the same afternoon...

Afterwards was amazing, I walked outside and the airbrakes on a london bus went "whoosh" right next to me, it felt like someone smashing a glass over over brain it was so loud! :D

I started getting pretty bad ear wax a few years ago. when i was in cambodia i basically went deaf in my left ear, this is what came out. felt amazing!

When i was in the elementary school this damn centipede almost got into my ear. Later i had infection in my ear, that was a disaster. Blood etc. . Took me a months to recover. Another infection 10-15 years later. It is a very important thing to keep your ear healthy as much as possible. My dad almost lost hearing for both ears because of the workplace(lot of noise). So far so good, knock on the wood. I am also to swing on the olive oil side. No hassle, no fuss.

Weirdest thing about this thread is that OP genuinely uses Yahoo as his homepage. What decade is this? :D

He is of the silver surfer age IIRC so we can forgive him, at least he's not trying to find the any key and wondering why pushing the power button on the monitor doesn't turn it on :p

Yahoo came with BT internet - Can I change it then ?? - Will BT allow me to do that and can I drive from state to state without papers. :D:D

There's a clue there to a film.

10 brownie points if you get it.

Thread revival!

Had micro suction today on my ears! Left ear had a load of solid wax in it. Took the guy quite a while to get it out! He even had to use special plier type instrument to pull bits out!

Right ear had some wax. It did hurt a little as the wax was tight against the ear drum. £40 for both ears.

How do you go about getting this done? Is it a referral via a doctor or are there special places you can book in?

I thought you had tinnitus? Isn’t it a bit risky to put a hoover into your ear?

Nope, they're just private clinics. I had mine done just off my own back last week. Rang up the previous Friday, got an appointment for Monday and paid the guy at the end. Easy. The guy even had a camera that went in both ears so I could see the before and after - lovely! :D

Out of interest do you have the name of the company you used? I'm still waiting to have a half of cow removed from my right ear.

I looked it up on the internet and then saw it was done locally. Rang them and appointment made! The guy said better than the water syringing method as that can damage the eardrum etc.

Yes, i have tinnitus in both ears but this method is non invasive. He doesnt stick a Dyson in the ear and put on full power! Lol He was very careful and professional. The clinic is in my local University and he lectures students too.
