Easyriders Cinema Room

Ah, win. Nice one for that.

Think im going to go down the same route with the projector and do a diy screen with the curtain lining stuff, some good guides on tinternet on making one so might have a crack. Kudos on the cinema room , very good quality equipment and skills :)

Set up my projector on my wall prior to it being done, so it still had artex on it, did seem slightly out of focus and i couldnt figure out how to focus it for about 5 mins, when i twisted that dial the picture cleared, and it looked superb.

Im really excited about getting the rest of it done, i had just planned to use my logitech speakers to start with, but im thinking now for getting speakers and an amp.

Is there an optimal distance for the projector? Im guessing the smaller the screen, the better the quality is going to be, i really could go anything from about 4-8 metres back from the wall.

I wanted max detail and for me, 92" is more than big enough for the size of the room imo.

It depends on the specs of your projector.

Check out this link to calculate the best distance, for the size screen you want :)

Love the setup Easyrider. I was thinking about going for the same projector and screen. What are the dimensions of your room and how far away is the projector from the screen?

Very very nice and just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune to achieve something as nice as that.

Looks amazing, great work!!!

How much wiring and stuff have you done in the past? Was it all reasonably easy to do?

Also, how did you get that screen for less than £2 :o

Got my optoma today, gotta wait till my wall gets plastered till i can set it up though.

how much did you pay for it? did you get it from the channel islands shop?

I'm looking at getting one shortly but feel resentful paying £530 for one when they were sub 400 not that long ago, and the pound has gotten stronger again too

Like any DIY job I just took my time.

Thankfully my mate is an electrician so that helped greatly.

I just had a vision and made it happen. I did a lot of research and stuff and stuck to a budget.

I haggled on pricing and was lucky with the timing of my purchases.

I must say the Onkyo 876 is one of the best bits of Kit I have ever bought. Its the heart of the system and does the job fantastically!

Anyone with the space and the funds to have a home cinema should embrace the opportunity with vigour.

I love this space and spend hours in there noodling on the guitars watching movies and chilling out.
