Easyriders Cinema Room

A cinema room on its own could be considered geeky. It's all about boys and their toys after all.
But its just like everything else, you do it because you want it. Stuff everyone else, as long as your happy with it.
I love what you've got planned out so far easyrider, I admit I havn't read all the post but i did at one point see a Bravia box, 32inch i think... if that is indeed the TV you have chosen then shame on you.. spending all that money on a cinema room and skimping on the size of the tv... Cinema aka THE BIG SCREEN!

Look again,

I'm having both ;)

A 92" screen with a TV behind.

And the Screen debates must stop now.

I want to keep this thread on topic.

Its my cinema room and I'll have a sign if I want to :p

Been Painting all day and finished the base mist coat.

I hate painting so thank goodness for 6 Music on the Radio :D

Its not going to be this colour:p

I have had it made so its 450mm deep allowing all my AV gear to be housed nicely. :)

The nice thing is its modular,so I can add more shelves etc...As my equipment grows.

I can add stuff like this to keep things cool etc..

Have draws etc.. if I want

Nice idea to use server racking, could come together very nicely. Is it to be on display or hidden away? Racking might look a bit odd with mismatched components? Ie lots of blank space?

It will be on the main wall filled with AV Stuff etc..

If I keep things balanced it will look fine.

I can use blanking plates if I need to, But I'm sure I won't have trouble filling it.:p

Its not server Racking BTW.

Its studio racking built to my spec.:)

Can I suggest bigger? 92" will get 'normal' very quickly IMO. You can build a fixed screen and hide it with curtains. Maybe not have a TV at all as it's a special room.

It was £1.89 delivered for the screen.;)

I'll see how I get on.

I may look into building my own at some point...

Does look good.

I have been having a look over some colour guides and was 99% sure of getting

Dulux Urban Obsession (Dark Grey) for the feature/screen wall and Grey Steel 2(light Grey) for the side walls.

Not sure my side lighting and Silver LEDS will go with brown or cream?

What colour are the lights now then? I imagined they would some kind of light purple or violet colour? Are they on a dimmer switch?

The colour is just like in the pics...I light bluey led colour :p

The main Lights are on a dimmer 3 on each side wall.

They are very subtle the leds and hardly give off any light.

Its just for mood.

The electrican will know more after I have finished painting:p

EDIT: Thought about an infra-red dimmer switch for your LED and normal lights in general? It would mean you could use your universal remote to automatically dim the lights at the same time you hit play? :-) (Although its probably a little too late for this now!)

Thats a great idea,

Got a link?

Its not to late!

Easy, what are you doing for seating?

The guys off penny arcade built a little stage to replicate seating in like a cinema, where the back "row" (sofa) was higher than the front "row" (arm chairs). That'd be kind of awesome (if a bit too tacky for your stylish room?). If not.. my question stands!

Was going to get a corner sofa and some black leather recliners.

I don't think the room is big enough to warrant a stage! :p

Can I ask, what size is the room?

Just had our room skimmed. Was previously wall papered, but after a lot of elbow greese (and I mean a lot!), I got all the walls clear of paper including that awful dry wall.

Room now smells like dung :p

Its roughly 25 m2 mate:)
