Easyriders Cinema Room

Must be some ratio here, the cheaper/worse the equipment, the bigger or more plaques needed....:D

Let the equipment do the talking, good kit is understated and doesn't need explaining..... just switch it on !!!!

But don't listen to me, ALL these Jap AV amps look S H one T to me... and need putting in a cupboard behind closed, and locked doors !!! LOL

Love the way the sofa is only about 1.5 meters from the screen/speakers....

But he has enough money for an onkyo amp, lcd tv, speakers and sky hd? and hes 19? IF anything he has a far better setup than most people here, much better than me and im 26! im not saying his setup is bad but he must have a lot of wonga to even get those things, and hes 19!

its a bedroom, come on use your loaf. i didnt post that picture for you to comment on his gear or the arrangement of it. if you dont like it then fine but then nobody really cares as that wasnt supposed to be the topic of conversation.

i can remove the photo if you really care that much?

Can we Keep it on topic please?

Not being funny but start another thread if you wish to discuss that room.

Cheers:)

well at least ceiling is done and that is the worst, walls should be a breeze in comparison. what is your estimated completion date? can't wait to see it

Not long now I wouldn't have thought.

The floor and painting and electrical sockets will be finished this week.

Then just skirting and then I bring in the gear :D

nice set-up, but you will need one of these for a proper cinema feel

One of what?

How are you wiring the TV? socket behind the TV, or channelling into a switched spur? One thing I can't get my head around for when I do my room next year is sub placement. Technically you should site the sub once the room is finished, but then it makes it harder to hide sub cables.

I have made a channel in the main wall

All wiring will be behind skirting unseen.

I take it that the TV power lead is going down that trunking then or is the double box having a socket outlet fitted to it?

The Power lead and coax and audio cable and HDMI will be going down the trunking.

I will fit one of these over the double gang box

You big fibber!!:D

Apologies for the subscribers. I have finished all the painting and was all set to get some pics last night. But didn't finish it until 12.30am.

I allowed it to dry and went home this evening after work to take some pics and the mobile went off asking me to babysit for my sister.:(

So i'm posting this from my laptop at her house so another night is lost. Sorry guys.:o

Will defintely have some pics tomorrow night after work.

2 days ago I was picking up the laminate flooring and that took two trips as its heavy stuff.

I do have some good news though.

I just got Sky+ HD and Sky+ multi room for £49 installed!!!!

They are coming around tues afternoon to install so I better get my finger out:eek:

I can't believe it! :D

i hope all the "oh not dont do that" isnt putting him off from updating... :(

TBH it is annoying as the laminate is a compromise I had to do to win the space.

I know the drawbacks of solid flooring quite well thanks to all who commented. With furniture in and a big rug it will be fine trust me.;)

Anyway moving swiftly on, I ran into a few problems. The electrician put his back out causing me this delay.
:(

I did't want to post a pic of one wall painted and leave the thread again until its completed, hence the delay in posting.

So my next update will be when the Floor is finished and the plugs fitted and lights. This week hopefully.

I'm getting Sky HD installed on Tuesday and I have to power the TV etc.. when he comes off an extension lead.:(

Running into problems like this, on a project like this, was bound to happen.

Plus side is all the painting is finished and 50% of the floor is down. The finishing around the window is done too.

Its going to be a really nice space I think. I have 8 more electrical sockets (4 are done) to get fitted then the wall lights and then I'm clear to bring in the gear.

If you want partial teaser pics then just say but its so close to completion in Decorating and wiring terms I thought I would give you the finshed empty room.

Then take pics of the gear installation.:D

P.S don't ask me for Pics right now....Its snowing and with no light or power I don't want to go arse over tip!!!!!!!:p

More pics please, it's more about the journey than what the final thing looks like. :) Upload as much as you can, it helps a lot that is wanting to know, how to go about things.

Near completion of my own home cinema, so I do know the stress that comes with it :)

OK, Will post partial completed pics when I get in at 3.30 pm.:)
