Ebay + Youtube + Piracy = LOL

She may know crap all about computers but if she has a little bit of common sense she'll goto you for assistance or someone she knows that has knowledge in computers. That goes for a lot of folks.

She'll come to me about anything.

But what if it was for me? Who'd she go to then? I don't think she knows anyone.

Haha if you look closely the McAffee folder on one of his videos it still has the torrent authors name on it, what a tool this man is.

at the end of the day, he is a pirate. hes stealing goods, using them himself then making money out of it.

not only is he ripping EA etc off, hes stealing customers from legit PC builders.

I cant beleive your defending him snowdog. Maybe its YOU selling them! Or even worse, maybe YOU bought one!
I'm defending him because I know how much a pain in the arse selling hardware can be ( seeing my dad sells pc's for over 15 years now, pickup only as postage is a hassle) and since I work at post, I find it terrible sellers of various goods get the bashing for what a bunch of monkeys at my work do with packages... Hell, I even just work at collection/sorting, there's various other people down the line too in transport(&hubs) and in delivery, I've seen a delivery guy on the street once throw packages back into his van furiously after someone wasn't at home to accept a package too. I find it a miracle most packets get to their destination without damage actually.
Oh dear, stop defending him and just agree the guys an idiot and needs to be stopped.
No, he doesn't need to be stopped imo, he's just a guy trying to make a living, he has buyers so obviously there's a market for this and people are happy with his products reading from his feedback...
Sorry, you are wrong about this. Delivery is his responsibility.
You can put whatever terms and conditions on something that you like. If they're unreasonable people can just pretend they're not there.
If people pretend they're not there then it's their own stupid fault if something goes wrong...
hes stealing goods,
No he isn't he's producing illegal copies/infringing copyright, he isn't stealing a thing...

No. That's my point. If it's unreasonable it's unenforcable. If it's damaged in the post then he's responsible regardless of what he puts on the auction. If he failed to take adequate cover for it then he's out of pocket.

Unreasonable contract clauses can be ignored as they cannot be enforced.

and the same goes for those poor guys on the street selling drugs to kids, they're just making an honest buck, the kids want the good, he's happy to supply them, where's the harm? :/

Guys, look at his feedback, he's sold a load of these. He must have made at least a few thousand £££ profit.

If FACT did catch up with him, would he get sued for the value of all the games & OS costs?

It's not as if he's being subtle, pretty stupid if you ask me, I guess it's a matter of time before he gets prosecuted...
I don't think they are illegal, if the police did actually come in, you'd have to prove you originally owned the disc therefore allowing personal use but if no then you're buggered. Same with ROMS for emulators.
I think grey area is actually the best way to class no-cd hacks... My comment was a little sarcastic as SoftICE now has various countermeasures....

If you believe the "no code modification" thing then making the nocd hacks in the first place is illegal...

he does sound asian! I would be willing to bet money on it

i would bet money on him being asian aswell.

to the point though, i am sure most people that bought this machine have no idea it had pirated software on and doubt any of them will get done for it.

But this guy was an idiot to advertise to the world that he pirated software then sold it, so atleast his stupidity has meant no more people will get ripped off by him.

Thats what i was thinking.

This "trader" is clearly acting illegally and tbh im amazed ebay hasnt pulled the advert yet.

I mean fair enough he could probably make the system, provide a legit OEM version of windows and a couple of full price games and make a little profit while covering his costs... but all those games? No way on earth they can be legit ( his videos show they are pirated anyway ) so how the hell can anyone be defending him?

''hes just a guy trying to make a living'' - hes just a guy stealing from others who are trying to make a living, and scamming everyone.

stop defending him its seriously making you look like a tool. The guy is an idiot and is stealing potential customers from legit sellers such as your dad.

I don't give a horses about it I still use my discs such as Mass Effect, I don't mind stuffing my cd in to play a game. But I just thought that was the norm.

so if I buy a load of games, copy everything onto a hard drive and sell the hard drive with the games, that's not stealing? not even if I do it a thousand times?

how about if I burn it onto a disc? I'm selling a disc, the information on it is free, but the disc will cost £15

Complain to ebay if you don't like his methods.

Fact is, he has still managed to keep a clean record with his customers. Either they've been done up like a sardine with the advertising or they understand what they're getting.

I'm personally going with #2

and the same goes for those poor guys on the street selling drugs to kids, they're just making an honest buck, the kids want the good, he's happy to supply them, where's the harm? :/

Now you're comparing apples to oranges....
I don't even see how you can compare piracy to selling drugs to kids...

No, it's large scale piracy, which is not the same as stealing...

Disagree all you like, you're wrong.

Under what law exactly? Or is it your opinion ?
