Edinburgh Meet March 2006

Well thats 5 of us 6 if you include H so I think we have quorum or at least enough for a splinter group whilst the youngsters go dancing. Make a nice change that and we can have a chat :)

Nice group forming for a pub crawl/wandering at night :D and my camera is coming along for the Friday tourist activities.

Just to raise the rules re photos, for anyone new to the meets. If any of the people attending say they don't want to be in any released pictures, this has to be respected. So photos will need to be sorted through and checked to respect everyones wishes before posting any you have taken yourself.

You need to sort that 'buy it now' out dude.

I thought £20 was a bit of a bargain, mind you they have an 'or best offer' option now so even if we can't get a score we might still make something ;)

If anyone attending needs my mobile number for the meeting up on Friday/Saturday, drop me an email and I will pass along my new number.

As for Friday's activities, we will hit the Castle and have a tour then wander down the Royal Mile and visit any touristy, whisky shops/museums and fudge shops for free samples where offered ;).

I picked up a mini tourist map of the city centre last time i was in Edinburgh so we can wander and do any other touristy sites like Greyfriars Bobby, museums etc again we go with what everyone wants to see.

As for food up to us on the day, as i am sure we can find a pub or place to eat where there is something for everyone.

Evening activities on the Friday for the early arrivals can be sorted out on the day while we wander about.

Saturday we will need to decide a meet up point and a time for those arriving to the meet on this day. If everyone coming on the Saturday is happy with meeting at the Princes Street Mall tourist information centre, at the Waverly Station end of Princes Street, we can all meet up there.

So midday Saturday, if everyone is happy with that? As gives us time to find a pub for rugby watching, having a drink and a good chat/laugh. Then those that need to go change back at the hotels can do so then we head to the bowling for the 7pm start. I assume everyone is happy with Old Orleans afterwards for a meal before the evening drinking begins.

H would like to go shopping whilst we bowl, apparently 'George's St' is good?

Is that anywhere near where we are bowling? We'll be there on Monday morning if it isn't :)

So far I only have one phone number for any of the other attendees, so if anyone wants to swap phone numbers my email is in trust :)

George steet is full of shops like French Connection and FCUK more designer shops than Princes Street. Depends what kind of thing she is looking for, i'd be happy to give advice on shops to H MB if you drop me a mail or post here.
It's not very far from the bowling at all really, but it's a short bus ride.

for reference :

MS Paint F T W! :D

hope this helps

I'm sure I could provide company for shopping (only if H wanted company of course she may prefer shopping by herself)... :) My hotel is practically on George Street.
