Where about are you stay Muban, the hotels near George Street are very nice. If you need help with shops give me a shout by mail. I suggest a visit to Harvey Nics on St Andrews Square and the shops on George Street are expensive but lovely. The Royal Mile has lots of little cute shops that sell woolen products and other little bits. At the bottom of Cockburn Street there is a lovely sweet shop and on the Royal Mile there is the Fudge Kitchen which is heaven.
 
but i wouldnt travel too far up cockburn street if i were you, its where the "goth-squad" hang out :p lots of tattoo parlours, a sex shop or 2, lots of drug pariphinalea (sp?)

unless your into that stuff that is! :)

Frederick House Hotel, looks quite nice in the pictures anyway. Free WiFi Internet too :)

Really, last time i checked there was 2 tattooists and one of the is a friend one piercer and very few 'goths' you don't get hassle going up there and the shops have changed to mostly clothes shops. The sex shop isnt really a sex shop it sells mostly clothes and smoking parafinalia the sex shop is at the back.
 
Thread's getting busy now :). I'll drop Muban and SCM emails and swap mobile numbers shortly.

My flight lands at 1715, so I'll dump my bag and meet up with everyone whereever the afternoon crew decide. I'm staying in the Travel Inn on Morrison St (under the bowling notice on that map), my boss caught me looking at their site a few weeks ago and said I could put it on the company account, which was nice :cool:.
 
Well i'm still pretty dependent on whether or not sormicoft goes, as if he's not then it's probably not worth me coming but i'll see what i can sort. Even if it's just popping through on the bus for lunch and a couple of pints during the rugby and a chat, then back home so be it.
 
We also have Jenner's on Princes Street, for those with the bank balance to cope with the Harrod's of Edinburgh.

There are also some nice small shops along Rose Street in Edinburgh as well doing hand made jewellery etc plus plenty pubs and food places. As Blackstar said George Street is good for shopping and has the more upmarket shopping as Princes Street, bar Jenners really, is your usual high street selection of shops. With the usual tourist shop thrown in for anyone wanting the Scottish souveniers of whisky, shortbread or the cuddly toy.

The only souvenier I'll be taking home is decent haggis and that won't be lasting long once I get it back ;)

When is best time to head through for as i am only a 20min train away from Edinburgh Waverly.

Im not to sure on how you are all planning the Saturday as i obviously wont be heading back to any hotel so is there anyone else who is just staying at the pub whilst others get ready ?

Don't want to be on my own awww :)
 
Yeah there are some nice pubs on Rose street, and there is an alright wetherspoons round the corner on George street.
Like Blackstar said Harvey Nichols is supposed to be a great shop, bit expensive for my taste so I wouldn't know! :p
Princes Street is ok for basic high street shops H&M, next, gap etc. And George street for your better brands.

I do and will make sure she knows what's going on. My MSN has gone badly titsup again so we've not been in contact but I will text her before the weekend. MSN is a real pain and I'm starting to notice other strange things happening on my PC. It's definately 'nasty' free but it's been over two years since a rebuild so it's going to need it shortly.

Blackstar - Not sure we'll be anywhere near, but if you do see us around, make sure you say hello :)

I've got Feeks and I've got Vixens number, and I'm on the same flight up to Edinburgh as MB and H. That should do me I'd imagine for contacts.
 
Ok had an email from Vixen and details are as follows

The bowling at present isn't booked as they needed confirmed numbers and deposit up front, so we will need to sort this out Friday or Saturday once we have confirmed numbers. Also if we can get a booking at short notice, if not we just start the pubs earlier than planned.

Vixen may be available to do some airport pickups, if required, but she only has a Clio so space for people would be tight.
