Edinburgh Meet March 2006

Ahhhh ************ the slightly bigger case still isn't quite big enough, so I've gone to the next size up which fits it all easily but there's no way it'll go as hand luggage :(

Any chance of wearing the shoes you can't fit in and see if it all fits in the smaller one?

I'm already going to be wearing the biggest pair (my boots).

Bed time!

One more sleep to go, w0000t :)

Sitting here in nobbut my boxers with a Jaguar mug full of hot, slightly steaming, freshly brewed coffee.

We'll be leaving for the airport in about an hour. Mrs. Feek is taking me and then picking me up on Sunday. She's not a particularly good or confident driver (not being insulting, she will agree with me about this) or navigator so Little Miss Feek is coming as well to make sure they get home OK :D

I think I've got my ticket info somewhere and I need to find my passport.

Sent you my number and the others I have aswell :). My plane's at the airport, not taking off until 1530 though.

Just back from Day 1 of the meet and much alcohol and food was consumed during our time in Edinburgh. Great time was had by all, we were eating and in pubs so to be expected :p

Tomorrow the tourist stuff happens and we will be wandering about Edinburgh, starting with the meet up at Princes Mall Tourist Information Centre at 10am ish then heading up to the Castle. From there the wonderful mystery tour will begin taking in shops, fudge shops and anything else we can fit in:D before finishing up somewhere for food and more drink.

So to anyone coming along on Saturday later in the day give us a buzz when you arrive and we will let you know where we are.

The 2nd report is just in.

We managed to finally do Edinburgh Castle and wandered around through the courtyards, the hills lots of hills, the exhibits and generally had a nice wander. We were there for the 1 o'clock gun, so pictures will appear of this tomorrow sometime.

Feek had a few wistful looks at the big canon's on show and at Mons Meg, with at one stage Mons getting it's own back and trying to eat feek :p He also enjoyed all the gun displays in the War Museum and the decorations of flintlocks in the Great Hall.

I managed to get lots of pictures of the castle, the meet people who were happy to be in pictures as some threatened death if they were captured  and did my own little part during the trip as well, when i looked up my grandfather in the list of those lost in WW2.

We have a themed look to some pictures so look out for The Prisoner Of Azkhaban appearing soon on the forums.

It was a great time the last few days and i am sad my part is over due to straining my ankle somehow during the walk today. So had to say my goodbyes tonight and head home, everyone else moved on as a group of friends to grab some food and more beer. Some old friends catching up and some new friends just meeting for the first time.

It was a good meet and heres to the next one i can get to :D

A good meet cut a bit short for me - got poorly sick yesterday afternoon :(. Feeling very dodgy indeed this morning so getting the early train home. Better luck next time I hope (there will definitely be a next time :) ). Off to get my train, catch you guys later.

Few pictures from the Castle and no attendees as everyone has to vet piccys

One o'clock gun going off which ended up with us shortly thereafter stinking of cordite. Next time stand upwindish :p

View out over Edinburgh from the Castle ramparts of which some of us might have been pushed, if we pointed the camera in the wrong direction

Was a good meet and other pics will appear later as a few of us had cameras going, when you see the bison burger piccy if it is posted, you will understand how 4 of those monsters cost just under £50 :D

Well.. I'm back.

Absolutely localesed, but I am back. I really wish I had tomorrow off work so I could catch up on sleep but thats sadly not the case and they have a bizarre hankering for my ever delightful presence.

Had a fantastic time, once again getting to meet a very diverse bunch of absolutely fantastic people. Anyone that could have come that didn't, Shame on you, and I think you're all fools for missing out on such a great time :p :D

Back aswell, had a great time, thanks to everyone who made me feel welcome at my first (and hopefully not only ever) meet :).

Fortunately I do have tomorrow off work (and the rest of the week :D) to recover which is good, Edinburgh has too many steep inclines to be an ideal bimbling venue.

I'm home again. I could do with a week off work to recover, but hey ho.

What a great weekend! It was good to catch up with people I already knew and also to meet new people.

Hope you're feeling better Muban, shame you had to go early :(

As far as pictures go, I've just setup an FTP server on a box of mine which people can upload piccies to. Email me (address in trust) or grab me on MSN and I'll pass on the details. I'll be working in London next week so if I don't reply to your email (I'll be checking email in the evenings) then maybe ask one of the other attendees for the details.

Bring on the next meet!
