EE - 4G

Especially funny that 3G data usage is included in that cap - be quite easy to move to them and actually have even worse T&Cs, poorer usage and to top it off paying more for it.

Im impressed how poor the company is considered so early in their life - took other network providers years :p

ps3ud0

Off to pick up my phone in an hour, just had it confirmed in an EE store that 12 month contracts are £10 more a month and the phone price remains the same.

That means the Note 2 with 5gb data works out at a total contract price of £750 over 12 months. Assuming a phone cost of £550 (although I think payg handsets are retailing at £600), that's just £17/month for a 4G contract with 5gb data.

Not sure why more people aren't picking up on this but it appears a very reasonable deal

Just got a pile of free EE swag from Capricorn, EE bag, 2x EE t-shirts, EE beer mat, EE mouse mat, 2x EE lanyard, EE headphones, EE jelly beans, EE notebook & pen, EE 2GB memory stick, EE badge, EE post-it notes.

Oh, and a free Costa coffee. :)

I turned down the manicure, massage and photoshoot as I was too shy. :o

£771.99, (12 * £61) + £39.99. They offering any cashback?

To be fair yeah that isn't all that bad, cheapest 3G handset I've seen is £490 and say £15 a month for a SIM only deal somewhere and you'd be looking at £670. £100 premium in year 1 for 4G and a handset that will be compatible with the other networks next year isn't too bad really :)

well finally got a decent answer. Coverage in croydon is marked as low/very low so it isn't advisable to switch to 4g yet. Also, as I am still within 6 months of my new contract with t-mobile, I would have to pay £99 as a migration fee whereas it will be free after 6 months and hopefully better coverage.

Whilst I was on the phone, I asked what my average data useage was on my current unlimited data plan with 900 min of calls. It turns out I use 527mb of data averaged over the last 3 months! This also includes a period where I moved and used my connection to tether whilst I waited for my virgin bband connection!

So as it stands I'm sticking to my 3g plan which is unlimited data/texts/tmobile calls and 900 min to any network with a 'free' note 2 lte :D

Wow only 527MB across 3 months? I rinsed about that much in a couple of days when I had no broadband at home :o

i should have been clearer, 527mb is the average i used per month over the last 3 month period, in which a couple of weeks oh heavy useage were included when I tethered at home. So i guess in a normal 3 month period my data useage would be even lower :)

Yeh that's the one, but can't add up in my head :p

Bought in store so no cash back, although online cash back details may materialise soon? The guy in store had no idea about the 12 month plans, I had to convince him they existed and he flicked through his pack of spreadsheets and it was on the last page :D I suspect EE are keeping fairly quiet about it as they're much better deals than the 24 month offerings.

Will report on speed etc when I get home.

I ordered a black 920 on a 12 month contract, got a email telling me to call them to find out they can't process my order because they don't get the phones until the 9th!

They could have said that on the website!

Ahh makes more sense. My usage isn't that high but I deliberately don't stream videos etc whereas I know if I was on 4G and I was getting those speeds I'd definitely be streaming :p

Yeah I think earlier someone else mentioned it and we reckoned they were sort of keeping the 12 monthers on the back burner to entice people onto the 24 monthers. The 24 monthers are not good value for money IMO, the iPhone ones in particular are eye watering. I think even the SIM only prices weren't that great :p

Utterly useless

So I've now got the phone on and can't connect to the internet :(

What seems weird is everything is still branded T-Mobile: the Sim Card, the network on the phone, the slips which was given to me to hold the contract and the receipt for the payment of the phone. I imagine the shop I was in was a T-Mobile store yesterday and they just haven't had a chance to get everything sorted.

Just about the only EE is was the contract itself (which says 4GEE) and the bag they gave it to me in.

Currently on the phone to a lady in India who is hopefully going to sort it all out.

1 hr 6 minutes on the phone and I'm told the phone didn't register properly when I signed up and its going to take 24-72 to fix.

First day launch.... not surprised, at least I can still use the phone/text/wifi

Hmm bit fishy this...............my upgrade date was 20/10/2012 and now today its changed........

Congratulations! You are eligible for an early upgrade.
You can renew your plan on 27-Nov-2012
Find out about an Early upgrade

Very odd indeed as my upgrade date was verified in store and on the phone when i asked about 4g and all the options have gone from my online account page to renew the contract for 20% off or get a new phone and 24month contract

very odd indeed.
