My god! I've just seen the trailer on Steam.:eek:

It looks like the kind of game God would make if he were a games developer!
 
I just hope they manage to make it feel more like space and less like flying around in a big room. For some reason that killed it for me previously.
 
Really looking forward to this. Slightly concerned that perhaps all the station interiors will be the same, and the NPCs will be little more than shops and mission dispensers like I previous X games. Really hope Egosoft don't do that to us.
 
I have to say I'm more excited for this than either the PS4 or Xbox. Been a while since I have played X but managed a good few hundred hours on the last games.
 
I'm slightly concerned you will only have control of one ship in this. I just hope its very customisable and you are able to upgrade it to be effective in whatever aspect you want it to excel at.

I'm not bothered that you no longer have control of carriers and such as they were cumbersome so I always left the AI to control the larger ships but I did like the progression from M5/M4>M3>M6

I share the same concern. I love these games, but the gameplay videos I watch of this one look VERY dumbed down in comparison to the previous games. I really hope this is not the case.

Im with you both on this point. What do we have to aspire to if we never get the opertunity to fly bigger, better and more imposing ships? Im worried with that motivation removed I might not sink as much time in this as i otherwise would.

Removing the ability to fly other ships would be a huge backwards step. :(

I agree, piloting a mk2 battleship a mile long that takes a minute to turn is not as much fun as flying a mk3 fighter and watching the mk2 lasers ripping enemy ships to bits.

On a side note, has anyone ever seen the markus space flys. I saw them once in X-2(think it was X-2). I was in a freighter out in deep space checking the ships computer and they landed on the front of the ship all sparkling and twinkling away.

X-rebirth will be a day release instant buy for me.:)
 
Will this game have a single player campaign with a good story if you guys know? Kind of like Freelancer did?
 
Yeh anything above M6 was pretty boring to fly. Some of the M7s like the Split Tiger could be ok though. Always found late game and having big ships highly frustrating, as they'd die against absolutely nothing if you weren't in the same system :(
