*****EGOSOFT TNBT (X Rebirth)****

Yeh anything above M6 was pretty boring to fly. Some of the M7s like the Split Tiger could be ok though. Always found late game and having big ships highly frustrating, as they'd die against absolutely nothing if you weren't in the same system :(

I used to fly around with a swarm of Shrikes - great fun :)

I honestly never liked big ship gameplay, I only ever used to them to take out Xenon caps (the shrike is very good for this, but you do have retreat sometimes).

Using bombers, just makes me feel like any loot that drops is getting blown up and the loot is really good from caps... :(

Still undecided about this one, looks massively dumbed down. Hopefully I am wrong.
What makes you say that? This game has only just popped up on my radar, so I don't know much about it at the moment.

I hope you're wrong too. As someone mentioned earlier, this is just the kind of game that can really excell on the PC.

X2 was the best, I am a bit wary of this though due to no ship buying. I will be getting it though. However i imagine ill just be thinking how old school it is compared t starcitizen/elite development looks.

One good thing is that the modding community is strong so I guess there will be plenty of options later on to tweak how you want it.

X3 tc for me was like dealing with a bright child who had serious health issues. Once you got to grips with the menu system and worked out a decent strategy to make money the game would grind down to a crawl if you started to fill up systems with factory loops be ause the game engine was single core threaded (which btw looked like a giant mess most of the time) and these performance issues eventually turned me off from playing it any further.

The fact I can only fly ONE ship for the whole game depresses me.

there going back to there roots in there first game X-Beyond the frontier and X-tension you could only fly one ship but you could upgrade it an unlimited amount of times if you had the cash.

And also no more Seta so ppl who would just set there ship in place and let it run and watch there money grow quick time to learn a new way of playing. :)

The game does look like its going to be good but I haven't really seen anything about the main character or even if there is one. Looking through the various videos, the closest you get to see the players character is a brief glimpse of the arms during a cockpit scene. I know the game is essentially a sanbox so they are probably leaving that open to be whoever you want to be, but if you are interacting with crew and wandering around space stations / ships it just feels odd to have you essentially be a faceless voiceless entity that you never see.

I know its probably not the highest priority, but would be nice for at least some basic character creation.

I used to do that! :D

I would play for an evening and then park my ship in a station, turn the SETA to full and leave it running all night and the next day while I was at work.

Never understood people doing that - might as well just use a cheat mod.

Seta must definitely stay. Doing long hauls early on with slow ship would be incredibly dull otherwise.
