*****EGOSOFT TNBT (X Rebirth)****

all this running around hiring people , docking , running around to find the person to buy from etc is uber annoying !
hopefully someone mods it so you don't need to dock to talk to people.....

I couldn't resist and bought it. I have never played any of the earlier ones but I'm really looking forward to it.

Wow! There's a lot of nerd rage happening on the Steam forums!

Still if X-Rebirth doesn't work out there's always Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen.

Never seen such a bunch of overly dramatic little diva's in my life. Just seen this post:

"Egosoft just took our money and ran. It seems the last 5 years of development was to build a title screen and Egosoft intro. Thats all they needed to get our money. Now that it is released they've disappeared, even their forum is down. We just got robbed Tijuana style guys."

Unbelievable some people like.

Got a reply from zavvi saying my order was sent out yesterday. Didn't pay for next day delivery (5-6 days it says) so I guess it's my own fault it didn't get here today :(

True, but I don't think any dev or publisher can complain if they ship a broken or incomplete product. They bring the nerd rage upon themselves if they do. "Ship it broken, patch it later" is never going to win any fans.

Three very different games though, but I am in line for all of them :D

X games tend to be a big flaky to start with anyway, bit of patching, sprinkle of modding and it'll be great as always :D Just a shame it can't come out in a nice stable state by the sounds of it, I'll load it up later.

I know, I remember spending plenty of time on their forums during the X3:Reunion release telling people to do this exact same fix. I wonder if any remnants of the old engine exist in this supposed new engine, and as such some of the old bugs have transferred over?

A bizarre and unique problem having to switch to 16-bit 48000hz.
Egosoft have always been lacking on the technical side of game design. They really should have got a few experts from Crytek or id to help design the engine. :(

Well smooth here so far, but haven't increased view distance (I think). Pretty too.

Can't decide between controller or keyboard.

Love the highways and boost, but so far not liking how much of the screen the cockpit of the ship takes up!

Just re-downloaded mine and it is working fine now ?

Will put in a few hours later and report back. I'm a bit of an X Veteran so looking forward to seeing how this one plays out and if it lives up to expectations.

Clearly they've never bought an Egosoft game before, even X3:AP was bug ridden & beset by tech issues on release, it was nigh on unplayable for some people, me being one of them, buuut Egosoft pulled there finger out & got it patched up sharpish.

Still, it would be nice if Ego would learn some lessons from past releases, & not do there usual facepalm release, it is pretty inexcusable by now, they definatley do know better. :p

So is it true that it is running in 32bit when it should be 64? Would explain the low performance that some people are experiencing. Only lag for me was on the first station...space is lovely and smooth :)

Always lots of rage these days, seems to be the new generation of gamer.

How intrusive is the UI when not in use? Fancy playing this on the plasma when i get home but don't want burn in.
