*****EGOSOFT TNBT (X Rebirth)****

That's good to know, I think I just need it to be a smidge cheaper before I jump in. Queue me buying it later.

The best thing about this game so far for me is how occupied space is. There is so much other traffic and ships it's unreal. Really adds immersion to the game.

The game runs fine on my system with a 4.6Ghz 4770k and a 780 GTX. It drops into the 30's at times but for this sort of game it is fine.

Quick screenshots nothing special...

I'm going to get this game soon, just wondering how stable the game is? Is it another game thats been released in a far from finished state?

I miss SETA for some things. Waiting for other ships to do their business is slow and could do with speeding up!

Also, how do I get my freighter to do the trade operation I assigned it to do? Do I need to remove it from my squad as it just seems to follow me about despite having 1 "planned trip".

Since re-installing I have not had an issue. Plays very well for an initial X release. I imagine there are bugs a plenty to be found but that's half the fun with these games...

I have gotten to the first combat sector but I am really trying with the controllers but I hit anything that's twice I have had my ship destroyed. Anyone know how do you target a ship?

Has anyone managed to get their freighter to collect the 100 energy cells yet?

I swear in X3 things were much more simple!

I think you can left click on it? Certainly if you have spacebar toggled to have free steering mode. I guess there must be another way to target too?

I really am finding it staggering how much is going on everywhere in the game. Very immersive.

A few more screenshots and Im probably there.

Static screenshots don't even do it justice. All the streams of traffic, highways, asteroids moving. It looks great. The soundtrack is as fantastic as ever too.

I am just relieved that it works.

I think it has nearly used up all the RAM that a 32bit app can. They really need to fix that asap. Wasn't it meant to be 64bit?

Dunno about you guys but I'm actually majorly impressed at the complete lack of loading screens when moving between sectors. It all feels and LOOKS connected. You can see planets coming towards you when you're in one of the super highways (blue ones) which makes it actually seem like it's one solar system (which I think it is). Seems to me that this bit of the game isn't getting the attention it should be.

I feel like complete newbie to the x games, I have spent the last 10 minutes trying to work out how to dock and I simply don't have a clue.

Whilst I agree that it looks great and the atmosphere is improved (the sectors feel more alive than previous games) I'm finding some things annoying:

- clunky menu system and navigation compared to X3
- annoying way of docking
- the whole first-person bit on stations is a bit lame and flakey
- no way of telling what NPCs are at a particular landing platform without flying right up to it
- dodgy looking NPCs with repetitive speech
- carbon copy station interiors
- no SETA to accelerate time
- I can't easily tell where my owned ships are like in X3

Loving this. Although I'm disappointed that I can't use one of these :)

Really tempted to get this game, looks like the type that I can just get lost in for hours upon hours.

£40 is quite expensive for a PC game these days though.
