Their is a little green icon you need to clock on that and a small menu will pop up saying dock.

Another question I have found a defense officer but how on earth do I hire him as there is no option to do so just: where can I find? show me you skills and goodbye
 
Quick Vid I made showing the game using shadowplay. The actual game is less juddery than the video not sure why it stutters.

For some reason you can't hire all of them. The only one I found was super expensive.

Heh, does that get annoying with always having slow traffic in highways? :D

I must say, the cockpit does seem to block the view a lot, not sure if I like it completely.

Visuals and soundtrack otherwise seem stunning.

Nope it reminds me of Bladerunner. Especially with the Police scanning you.

The game is fantastic and I'm hooked. :)
 
Everyone seems to be caught up in eye candy. Does nobody else agree that the actual gameplay is lacking from previous X games?!
 
Joystick (X52) so far:

1. Space, great except firing. For some reason I can't map what would normally be fire 1 and 2 to any commands at all despite them working and the profile being fine.

2. Moving in a space station with joystick, I can't move the cursor and there isn't a mapping other than left, right, forwards and backwards - no mechanic to allow you to look around so you end up going back to keyboard/mouse.

So far it's not as in depth and playing is easier as there is not masses to learn or work out. It's simpler but tbh I think it's better for it.

Will see how it progresses as I'm only a few hours in.
 
I'm not sure about simpler. I can't actually get my freighter to collect some E-cells and without SETA I have to sit there and watch it moving at a snail's pace. This was very easy to do in X3.
 
So when you're buying energy cells, do you just have to wait around for ages once you've done the trade for your other ship to arrive?
 
I can't really comment on the game play as of yet as I am am so far very early on in the game. I have picked up my transport and hired a pilot and an engineer and shot a couple of drones. I now need to find a place to buy some missiles. The game sounds and looks stunning and space is full to the brim. I do not like docking running about trying to find npc, I guess with time I will know exactly where to dock and who to speak but so far docking and running about is a complete let down.

Transitions from one area to the next is smooth no noticeable slow downs and I have not suffered any CTD despite minimising the game to look on here.

Hotas yes, although it really currently doesn't work very well, track ir is coming but not in game from what I gather.

flight in space is fine, actually rather nice when you have it bound properly.
menu selecting is a pain in the rear.
movement in space station just seems impossible, it's basically made for joypad from what I've seen. I can move but can't mouse look. I'll have to muck about with the stick settings even more.

Basically for a game that's meant to be a space sim they need a slap for not actually supporting joysticks better, 2 of the 3 basic axis even needed inverted. which screams JOYPAD. Despite the devs using joysticks /facepalm.

The game seems fine, not far enough in to make a judgement though.
 
Already started my lets play for this game. So far i am happy with it to early to say how much they have dubbed it down but it does feel dubbed down I hope im wrong and endgame proves to be great.

Cheaper to buy it in the shop at £35 (cheapest place I found)
