*** Elden Ring ***

In answer to my question about unpacking vs downloading, its unpacking a lot faster than gig internet id say itd be close to 2Gb internet which youd be lucky to get from steam so its faster to preload if the PC is a good spec

Having never played Dark souls but a big fan of the likes of Elder Scrolls, Fallout that sort of game, am i likely to enjoy this? looking for a good game to get into now i've done pretty much all i want to in cyberpunk.

Some quick thoughts, locked at 60FPS and for some reason although I'm on keyboard and mouse with no controller plugged in it's prompting me for controller inputs, thought it might be a bug with Razer but others seem to be affected. Looks like Q maps to back and E is OK/Select. Also mouse look feels like it's accelerated, or at very least a very high sensitivity, either way doesn't feel right so I'll probably need to adjust settings. Didn't really intend to play tonight, so will wait until tomorrow when I get back from work.

Popped in to dabble with the settings and pick a starting class but couldn't decide so left it for tomorrow (or later today technically:p).

Too bad the Bloody Wolf class was only for the network test, looked amazing, reminded me of the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst from Bloodborne.
I hear that armour is obtainable soon-ish into the game so no biggie.

Certainly an odd feeling when you get to the open world given how these games have always been, almost feels a little daunting in a way. I'm excited to get stuck in tomorrow, atmosphere feels like it's there already.

Stutter is there too though, seems to kick me down to around 45-48 fps briefly, a minor annoyance so far, but one I hope they can quickly fix.

I've had a few stutters but nothing drastic. I see this golden clad horseman riding around, as much as I want to see what gear he has I daren't attempt it just yet.

I'm getting mostly 60fps too so far at high settings that it defaulted to at 1440p on a 2070 Super.

Just checked performance using the Steam in built FPS counter, running in and out of a small area to a wide open area and fighting some mobs a few times, a few minor drops to 58 fps if that, so it's definitely really playable. Getting good temps too, 57c or so GPU and 60c CPU. It's not seeming like a bad port so far, will have to wait for some huge enemy fights to fully gauge it.

Feels just like a progression from Dark Souls 3 but open world. Shield blocking is much more powerful than it was due to a new blocked counter move. Seems a great game so far.
